If it's cheap enough that it's worth the upgrade, I'll file a return-protection claim (and buy the newer one), otherwise, this is a good camera for $150 with a case and card.

Any can't-miss features on the refresh?

Elph 310 has a 3" LCD and 8x optical zoom instead of 5x-a pretty nice upgrade for an ultra-compact camera.

Not worth $50 more, but if the price drops to $180 it would be worth going for the 310 IMHO.

Thanks. Considering the MSRP ($229?), we'll see if it'll come down to $170 (case and card are worth at least $10 to me), $60 off at launch (or even $50) sounds a bit much.

MSRP is $259 according to amazon, so it's already down $60. We'll see what happens.

Since the recession began more and more companies are doing this, they jack up their MSRP and give you a 'bigger discount' while charging you the same (post-discount) price.

Btw, you might mention its for the Silver only. (Although about 24 hours ago, this price was for the red one only, which has since changed to silver all day today)
