And I should have used the term less yeshivish, I wanted to include not frum so went with the word frum so I could get non/less in there, but I realize I was accidentally implying less yeshivish = less frum. I was responding to a post where someone stated they’re cool with requiring everyone to wear masks, but not ticketing people who aren’t. I just pointed out the obvious, that they probably aren’t ticketing those that aren’t.

As an aside, I believe @KSMH mentioned anyone getting within 6 feet of others outdoors needs to wear a mask in NY.

They are very similar to myself, actually. Almost identical. I do believe there is a higher rate of noncompliance among very yeshivish and Chassidishe people in NY, but it seems others on this thread don’t believe it or don’t want to. Either way I won’t continue debating it in public. Feel free to PM me further.

By the way, in no way did I condone the Mayor’s tweet, nor do I think what’s going on is normal at all. Disgusting and abusive behavior. It should be called out and protested vehemently and aggressively, on social media and through the courts. I’m just saying we need to behave too.

The mayor has no authority to issue executive orders regarding this, it's the Governors EO. Any person can get this dismissed easily. This is typical NYC cop stupidness.

No such EO exists. It's the governor's EO. Semantics? Maybe. But I wouldn't be surprised if tickets were thrown out for that.

Right, so anyone within 6 feet of someone needs a mask. Word on the street is they were ticketing everyone unmasked, regardless of social distancing.

It will come down to he said - she said, but if there are enough complaints, I'm sure something can be done.

Effective at 8 p.m. on Friday, April 17, 2020 any individual who is over age two and able to medically tolerate a face-covering shall be required to cover their nose and mouth with a mask or cloth face-covering when in a public place and unable to maintain, or when not maintaining, social distance.
