Now as I'd have responded in a PM:

1. I fail to see how anything is telling at all. One is a meme from someone who rarely agrees with you but did in this case and was an obviously in jest, one was an f-bomb which is against forum rules and had zero indication of being in jest. The fact that you added asterisks after the f does not help your rule violation or make it less profane.

2. I disagree with many posters on the forum, but no, I don't suspend or ban them for that. People have also strongly challenged my positions publicly and sent me some very nasty PMs, but I didn't suspend them for that either. There are rules and obviously it's up to me and the other mods to decide where to draw the lines. It's an art, not a science.

3. Tensions are understandably high. I've had to suspend or ban a handful of members in the past 2 months, which is more than I have in the 12 previous years. We've had several members leave on their own volition due to a lack of moderation and suspension of abusive posters. I've long prized the lack of moderation and suspensions on DDF and it's depressing to have to crack down, but c'est la vie. 4. Come back in a week with a different attitude please and all will be put in the past.
