https://www.cnbc.com/2020/05/01/second-trimester-miscarriage-attributed-to-a-coronavirus-infection-of-placenta.htmlI wonder what the numbers in our community are - does anyone know if there's been an increase in miscarriages/stillborns over the past months? The reasoning is that COVID-19 can lead to blood clots and “The placenta is made up of miles and miles of blood vessels. Anything that causes clots in the placenta is going to diminish oxygen for the embryo or the fetus and put the fetus at an increased risk of demise.”
Quotes in a signature is annoying, as it comes across as an independent post.
I know 6 people who had healthy babies in the last month, B’h! Most of whom tested positive for corona
Those would have all been 3rd trimester when this started.
Spoke to someone who specializes in infertility and is involved in ATime etc (bh don't need his services) Told me all the rumors are false coronavirus dosnt cause still birth or miscarriage. Time to close this thread.
Heard a story today of someone (in our community) who's having a stillborn and is C-19 positive.
and I know of a case that a covid19 patient had a healthy baby while on a ventilator for 21 days so..... I guess time to close this thread
One case one way or the other is not enough to establish anything. You need a larger sample size and then see if the rate of miscarriage is higher.
As someone that went through the trauma of a late term miscarriage this thread gives me chills. And just in case any women might read this there is no reason to scare them with no real proof.
She is still on a ventilator now, right? And her brother in law as well?
i believe she is off, and its her 1st cousin not brother in-law
Spoke to one ob/gyn in Lakewood and they said they have not experienced any stillborns since the pandemic started.
