There's a bird seed that has very sharp food in it, that supposedly birds like, but squirrels do not. Anyone try this?

I sometimes coat my seed in cayenne pepper, with mixed results.

Orioles. No luck so far, but it often takes a while for new species to discover dedicated feeders.

Depends where you live, you won't find parrots or peacocks in the NY/Nj area. Basically most specie of birds found here is in the OP, compare to that.
have Quakers/monks all over the ocean Pkwy area in Brooklyn ,see them pretty much every day(actually had one as a pet for a couple of years)

Correct, they can't taste the heat.

Yup. A beautiful and interesting species, so it's worth the effort to pursue them.

Worth a shot, but first find out if squirrels will actually be an issue for you.

This game is very much hit or miss, but with the Orioles it's almost entirely miss.

It's out there for the Orioles, though it seems like the Gray Catbird likes it as well, they've been pounding the jelly that I put out.

I had them for a few weeks, until I think 5 gray catbirds scared them away.
A friend that lives 3/4 of a mile away had them today.
