We saw two new species today! (New total: 39) (Link to rest of the list)

They both showed up within minutes of each other early this morning.

The Bay-breasted Warbler was around for a few hours snacking in the trees around my feeders.

(Sorry for the poor quality)

#38 - Bay-breasted Warbler

#39 - Blackpoll Warbler

Today's batch. There were a few which were hanging around but never made it to the feeder and flew away too quick.

There is a male and female cardinal that keep coming by but are very scared and flying away before we can get a picture. An American Bluebird (It think) keep flying around the area but hasn't come in yet from what I can see. Another robin-sized bird with brown and yellow but couldn't see it close enough.

In general, the European Starlings, which are from a nest on my neighbor's roof, are being big bullies and actively chasing other birds away. The only ones which fight back are the woodpeckers who always win with a peck.

Can anyone suggest a bird feeder?  I am looking for one for a glass window (near tree) in brooklyn?  I see the ones that have suction cup.  Any good?

Has anyone tried window feeders, Like this https://www.amazon.com/Suction-Birdfeeders-Cardinal-Bluebird-Birdhouse/dp/B00YSU3WG2
Are they any good?

They should, but limited to ground feeders. Doves, cardinals, grackles, starlings, bluejays, and possibly chickadees and house finches.

BTW @pointer if you want to use standard feeders but specifically at your window, you have lots of options.

Identified 3 new species today alone:

1. White-breasted Nuthatch
2. Red-winged Blackbird
3. Tufted Titmouse

Bringing my total to 11. Not including the species that visit but do not eat like the robins and crows.

Thanks!  Can you suggest some feed?
Depends what you want to attract (at least according to the packages). Look around in your local Walmart...

Apparently the catbird that used to come every summer for a week got himself a lady friend. They took up residence in the back of my yard and seem to be here for the long run.

Also started having some chipmunks poking around beneath the feeders. They're cute and not a nuisance so far, so let's see how that goes.

Early Shabbos morning, a squirrel got to the feeder I hung from a tree branch, knocked it off and spilled the entire contents onto my deck. What a show we had! Right outside of our sliding door, squirrels, cardinals, chickadees, a nuthatch, a blujay (who until now hadn't partaken at our feeders) all feasting together in harmony.
