Is Zoho still the best/cheapest option if all I need is custom email hosting? Will be used very little so don't need much space. Will I be able to add additional email addresses at a later point? And what if at a later point I want to make a website with that domain? Will I need to do it with Zoho or will I be able to take it elsewhere? Also, just confirming that I'll be able to use it through Gmail or Outlook, right?
If you only need custom email, zoho is free (one domain per account) up to five users (excluding groups) IIRC.

You can just use Gmail with send as account and incoming via improvMX or your domain provider (if they offer email forwarding, namecheap does)
I don't own the domain yet so I don't think that would work

Perfect. Thank you. And will I be able to export the domain to another company down the line, if I want to (ie the business gets bigger and I want to make a website)?

Like switch to outlook? I'm sure you can do it, I dont know if your emails would transfer. Beyond my technical skills. I have zoho accounts for domains i hardly use but keep the email account current in event i need to send from there.

Domain registration prices are very similar regardless where you go (a dollar more or a dollar less.)

I find Google Domains to be the best option in general. They're certainly more trustworthy (both on your account security, and issues with their system) as any small company can be. And they also have good free email forwarding (so no need for an email provider and setup if you don't need a separate login and inbox), and they also come with free private registration (which you need if you don't want your name public for all spam calls to start coming to you, the aforementioned gkg charges an extra $2.85 for it.)

Another similar option is Cloudflare

Anyone know if GoDaddy can forward emails sent to my domain to another email account? I found this https://www.godaddy.com/help/set-up-my-forwarding-email-address-7598

But got this error "This domain is currently migrating to Office 365."

Does that mean that I'd need to pay for either their email service or another one? I don't need to log in to see these emails separately, just want them forwarded and the ability to reply from the address.
Workflowy. You won't know what you're missing until you try it.

Looks like to send emails I'd need the premium plan for $9/month... for less than that I could do one Gsuite user so maybe that's a better option...

you can send and receive emails for free through a basic gmail account

1. set up mxrecords to https://improvmx.com/
2. fwd emails to your gmail account
3. add external account in Gmail using the hello@domain.com address and your Gmail smtp credentials (use one time password)
4. set default sending account to newly added email (or set always reply from address email was sent to)

@etech0 worked?
I looked at it but didn't try it yet. Looks like I would first need to enable 2FA. Do you know if I can do that without a smartphone?
