True, but in retrospect that wasn't the case. The first person I know to actually be sick with covid was on the Shabbos following Purim.
People used to think that it really took up to 14 days to get sick. In reality, it's just a few days for most.
This is a recycled argument we had months ago, it certainly seems you are mistaken. I know quite a few people who thought they had the flu but tested negative in February/early March and tested positive for antibodies.

By the way, Montreal is a good example on how it actually spreads. The first wave barely touched Montreal.
The second wave which is basically the only wave so far, started when mass testing was widely available already.
The origins of the wave are widely known, and all it took was several weeks and Rosh Hashanah for it to seemingly peak with every other person infected.

Do you really think only someone from Cleveland caught it at a kosher food event in New York?

Of course not, but I was talking about the circle of local people that I know.

So if we are able to presume that there were numerous New Yorkers in the frum community outside of the circle of local people you know who were infected then how does it make sense to infer from your circle not having it? Isn't that clearly not indicative?

*Which was packed to the gills by thousands of frum Jews.

There clearly is a second wave. Everything is being recycled and is resurfacing.

Here's one example out of many.

I've been waiting over 5 years with bated breath for someone to say that!

On schedule and as expected.
We were told about a second wave during the Fall/Flu season. This wave/uptick has nothing to do with the Fall/Flu season. Probably caused as people get tired/weary of being careful and start going back to normal...

But does this Wave have anything to do with the Fall/Flu season? Lakewood/NY started their spike before the Fall we are dealing with cycles not a predicted Fall Flu season uptick. Are we seeing the flu spiking Now?

The flu doesn't cause Covid. The flu season happens to start in the fall. When the predictions were made for a second wave in the fall, the only time flu came into the picture was as a factor which may make Covid harder to diagnose or harder to treat (if someone has both). There is no known or claimed correlation between the flu and Covid.

ETA: traditionally, the second waves of pandemics come in the fall. They are also traditionally worse (in terms of spread). What we are seeing is exactly in line with what we have come to expect from pandemics.

I didn't say the flu was going to cause covid. What they talked about the second wave was Just like the Flu season gets bad in the Fall which probably has to do with the weather / lower immune etc. Covid will also spike. Now the flu season hasn't exactly started but covid seems to have take off! And in Lakewood it took off 2 months ago! So it's not the "Fall" wave - Lakewood and NY is the proof

So because both this and that could possibly start at the same time, since this hasn't started yet, that must be something else, because they aren't tied together but we can't have them apart.

If Biden wins, expect a national lockdown at some point this winter using the same key phrase that is being used in Europe: circuit breaker.
