And this is why I was hoping no one would post this story on this forum. EVERYTHING has to become a partisan fight. Even when a man gets murdered.
Here is a long thread:

Now even if 90% of that is inaccurate, it's still murder. the fact that they got away with it until the video turned up is such a monumental crime of corruption and disgrace. People get arrested for so much less, for the cops to have decided so fast and with such minimal investigation that the killing was justified is so blatantly corrupt, it's gobsmackingly stunning that anyone would try to turn this into some sort of political football.
Your Twitter feed is a biased thread it does not support the small amount hard facts available.
My post was not taking sides but projecting a possible outcome.
There are two sides to a story.
If you listen to the 911 Audio, it has been reported and the neighbor reported someone breaking into a house under construction - FACT [ your linked Twitter thread dosnt agree with this]
https://youtu.be/qEOBDlg9rp8The neighbors gave chase to the guy they believed committed burglary. Under Georgian law a citizen may make an arrest if someone is suspected of committing/committed a crime.
What is abvisios from the video, there was a fight over a gun- FACT
Now, the details in between is/will be disputed.
Such a thing, while easy to technically prosecute, is hard to get a guilty conviction. Remember that case in Florida?
Every competent lawyer will tell you, that a case that has gotten considerabl media attention has more to do with politics and public image then with fair justice.
The supreme court ruled today, not every case of public corruption means there was a crime committed.
I'll add; not every case of death means a crime of murder.
I agree there was a tragedy, but that dosnt mean a violation of the law.
When every media outlet screams OUTRAGE, there is no choice but to prosecute, even if that means a non guilty verdict.
While a more detailed investigation is most likely justified, arresting someone because all media decided to wake today is not justified. A prosecution should not be based on media but based on facts.
Media can bring attention to a crime, but should not prosecute it.
