Many of us have been taking long walks with their wives for the last six weeks. Walk around Lakewood lake and count the other couples. Friends on the other hand are a rarity.

Up to 5 charcoal bbqs out back since pesach. There’s something charcoal brings out in steak that even my smoking hot cast iron pan can’t do. Of course with the kids so bbq with wife alone would be nice. Gearing up for a big bbq and fire pit hadlakah next week with booming music on L”B. If a few of neighbors want to join in with appropriate distancing won’t say no.

Of course. The smoke of the charcoal imparts flavor. How would that be similar to cast iron which is just heat?

Cast iron makes a riproaring steak- charred on the outside rare on the inside. Definitely has its advantages. But yeah, the charcoal flavor is unique. And for hotdogs and kielbasa only charcoal will do. My Weber is OK but I prefer the other two.
