Tbh they never closed down and probably have a nice amount of blood on their hands, laughing or not. I am generalizing and perhaps exaggerating but you know what I’m saying.
This is absolutely false!
Most Chasidishe shuls did close down at the beginning of the outbreak and they remained closed until after Pesach.
For tha past week or so, more and more have slowly started to open up with rules and restrictions in place such as social distancing, masks etc.
Misguided or not, the general sense in these communities is that almost everyone had it already and based on the
significant drop of the fatality rate the worst is behind us.
