A relative just sent me this
So getting covid offers no protection from getting it again?  :)

More likely it's anti vaxxers attempt to discourage ppl from vaccinating, since it's become clear that (1) vaccine is safe , (2) covid is not, and (3) natural immunity isn't perfect.

So the natural response from the playbook is "vaccine makes you worse off!"

We weren't in a discussion about protection he just sent it as it's interesting you'd think that they wouldn't get it, covid + vaccine and still got it again

Are you sure he didn't mean that there 85% of the people there comprised one of a) people who were vaccinated *or* b) people who had covid?

A relative just sent me this

85% of what? 3 people? 20 people? And this relative asked every person there?

These are actual figures from Crown Heights plasma "clinic", just from the first 10 days since they opened (Sep 1). The person who told me this said they have been too busy since then to stop and count.

297 people treated
35% vaccinated
26 people reinfections
8 of those 26 were also vaccinated {less than 3%)

This makes more sense than 85%.

When you say plasma you mean monoclonal antibody infusions? Is anyone even infusing convalescent plasma in the US anymore?

Yes, I was responding to a post calling it plasma, and that is generally what people on the street call the treatment

Id want to see how high my antibodies are first. Either way, would likely wait a bit. Also depends on COVIDs trajectory in the US, if this wave tapers off Id likely wait until theres evidence of another wave building up.

They need to figure out this natural immunity.
https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/natural-immunity-is-good-getting-vaccinated-after-being-sick-with-covid-19-is-better/ar-AAPGOC4?ocid=msedgntp

This latest fud with "vaccines casing/making susceptible to reinfection", ridiculous claim, waste of time arguing with the sheeples.

But you never know if it'll be accepted for travel when countries get to mandating a 3rd dose for entry.

Canadians have this issue now as they mixed for 1st and 2nd and now some double-vaxxed people can't get into certain countries. BH I got 2 of the same but I know others who can't travel to some countries due to mixed vaccines...

How strong is the scientific evidence advocating this, specifically for those who received 2 doses of Pfizer or Moderna respectively (each of those would have to be studied separately).

There was some discussion here about it possibly being beneficial but I would need @TimT to find it.

Ive seen the theories, and the recent studies on J&J single dose recipients benefitting from an mRNA booster. Im asking about hard data on whether those who were fully vaccinated with mRNA would benefit more when getting a different mRNA booster vs. the same as their first shot, particularly Moderna vaccinees benefitting from a Pfizer booster, considering that Moderna has been seen to hold up better to Delta variant.
