When applying with a valid reason, for exemption to enter Israel (as a us citizen), and I don't have someone to host me to quarantine, hotels don't work correct?
Will i have an option of going to one of those Israeli corona hotels? Or is the only option renting an apartment? But i still won't have someone to pick me up from the airport as required.
When you land in Israel you fill out an online quarantine registration form which allows you to take a taxi home. The private car thing is a MFA mistake.

you can go to a government run hotel.
I believe you have to foot the bill,
However renting an apartment would be much cheaper and less painful IMO.
How would you get food in a rented apartment? And would the government hotel come out cheaper then regular hotel?

there are plenty of delivery options for a minimal fee (30nis)
depending on location

I don't know the prices of the hotels so can't answer.

On the health ministry website, it says israel foot's the bill, and doesn't make distinction between citizens and non citizens.
