I suspect that the people being sent to Misrad Hapnim prior to check-in might be related to this (I didn't see kids, but it might have been adults that have Israeli parents).
the people who are sent to misrad hapnim, are the people who received the email from משרד הבריאות that no longer need to be in quarantine, and the משרד הפנים did not know about it. And can’t leave the country (with a USA passport)
So they are sent downstairs.

Can someone explain the check2fly thing? If everyone gets tested do I need an appointment? And what are the advantages of a speedy vs slow test?
Everyone landing in Israel needs to go through the check2fly testing center. Having a (free) prebooked appointement reduces the waiting time since you already enter all your details online. Otherwise there is a line for agents to enter the details manually etc

Would it mean that Americans with an American vaccination record could enter Israel? That would be amazing!
That's the objective. Will it actually happen? I'm skeptical but who knows

Do I need to rent an apartment before I even apply with permission to enter Israel? It seems that I need to provide a bunch of information that I don't have yet. Can I can put my sister's address and change it later?

Any updates on accepting US antibody tests. Unlike the vacine. Antibody show up on your medical records.

Every test has a different threshold. In general, it seems from the list of approved labs, that they use either the Diasorin, Roche, or Abbott test. Threshold depends on the method of testing. If you test positive for antibodies in the US (or wherever you are) you should be fine.

The the >15 AU/mL threshold used in the US should be the equivalent of positive in Israel?

Should be.
I think it's safe to assume that if you test positive for antibodies right before travel to Israel, that you'd test positive in Israel. They may or may not use the same numbers, but it should be equivalent.

As @Mendyy already told you, there isn’t a singular threshold in the US, it varies by which test is used.

1) That's not how I understood his words

2) There is a test used by a lot of labs in the US that uses the >15 AU/mL threshold. Question is if the equivalent of that would test positive in Israel as well. What difference does it make that there are more tests used in the US that use different numbers?
