Money is all that counts.
If she paid she's good.
They stopped giving you a time...
24 hours of departure.
AFAIK as long as she paid the rest doesn't really matter
Thanks!

Very interesting. Is this through a large employer group? Which insurance company?

This article while correct doesn't even describe the joke that the entire thing is.

It's a huge bureaucracy with checkboxes to say that they are doing something, while it's nothing but a nuisance that varies from small to huge.

PCR tests within 72 hours of flight to Israel are a joke. It's too much of a hassle and a nuisance to do exactly that. DW and I took tests prior to departure, but ended up using backup tests I had on my computer.

The tests upon arrival are a mess, and the charge for them (and the back and forth with the providers being used, etc) just exhibit that it isn't about public health but about bureaucracy.

While I have a recoveree certificate due to getting an Israeli antibody test during a previous visit, DW doesn't have such a certificate yet (despite having a positive Israeli antibody from October 2020 - before the current procedures for people who were vaccinated or recovered outside Israel were implementated). She took an antibody test at Shamir shortly after we landed, and despite getting results a few hours later, is yet to officially be released from quarantine, with nonsensical bureaucratic requests (send a copy of T.Z., after sending copy of Passport being told that if T.Z.was requested one can't just send a copy of a passport without an explanation - never mind that none of those should be required in the first place).

And now every person leaving the country needs to fill out another form/declaration, which is nothing but another pointless level of bureaucracy.

Large employer group, Aetna

That explains a lot.

Large employer groups are often not insured by the insurance company, but are rather self-insured/funded by the employer, who uses an insurance company for administering the plan. As such it's the employer that sets the rules and policies, as long as they meet federal and state mandates. Your specific employer decided to cover these tests. There is absolutely no Government mandate that I am aware of to cover overseas Covid-19 tests and Antibody tests that are not medically necessary.

Small group plans and individual plans will not reimburse for these kinds of tests AFAIK.

Does it help to prepay? Do you still wait on this line?

That line is for people that prepaid. I am not sure if NOT prepaying gets you out faster or it's just a short line for registration and payment and then you get to go on the long line. I was never brave enough to find out.

It's absurd that check2Fly was so efficient and now we have to deal with this stupidity all because of politics

Plus now they are about to launch a RFP for a new long term supplier. So we might end up with yet another provider in 2-3 month time

Are they checking on people in quarantine? Or do you just need it to leave the country? Anyone with recent experience?

DW arrived today at around 6pm. Line for PCR was not too long. Problem was that the workers didn't want to work. Families with young children waiting but the testing people were too busy playing with their phones to the point that DW deviated from her normal behavior to give them a piece of her mind. From her experience, if they would just do their job there shouldn't be any major overload.

Does anyone know if VIP greeting service at Ben Gurion makes getting COVID tests faster as well?  My understanding is that they help you get through passport control faster and help you get your bags... do COVID tests happen after that, or before that, and can they help?  The videos of the lines that have been posted here are really scary... we will be ariving at 4:30 AM with three small kids... if we have to wait 2 hours in that kind of line, it's going to be really hard... is it that busy even so early in the morning?  Thanks for any info!!
