Could be 3 day home quarantine.
It's a risk though

Insanity. Rash decision without any definitive plans for exemptions. And if they are serious about locking down the country, why let Israelis travel outbound and then come back in- aren't they also at-risk for bringing back the Omicron variant???
Hours later, the government then makes these one-off decisions here and there, leaving everyone scrambling. Horribly executed.
Except for the Miss Universe contestants (to be held in Eilat)- they are all getting exemptions! Shameful
oh so that what this is all about
the South African government didn;t want the SA contestant to go to apartheid Israel  so they created a variant to get Israel closed
but the Tzionim are smarter, they closed the country to everyone but the contestants.......

Better than getting sent back.

"And any foreigners who do manage to get permission to enter Israel would have to quarantine in a state-run coronavirus hotel."
ALL such hotels have back entrances and/or fire escapes.

I know someone who got final vaccine on 11/15 which is 13-14 days ago. Can he fly tonight to TLV?
It will be 14-15 days tomorrow when he lands in Israel. Question is how they count it. Anyone had experience with this? Thank you!

If he isn’t an Israeli citizen/resident I’m not sure vaccination status matters at all

It ain't over 'till it's over. I wonder what the Israelis will do next.
This had nothing to do with "the Israelis" rather self empowered airline agents

Back in 2020 I had a client denied boarding on UA with only a teudat ma'avar, also had to improvise to get it thru, and when contacting UA later to correct it in the future I got the standard BS bot auto response

It most definitely had to do with "the Israelis"

Quote
Israel is known as startup nation and they have the same “move fast and break things” philosophy when it comes to decision making. Rules are made on the fly, websites are rarely updated in a timely manner, and partners don’t always get the memo.

Israel decided to close to foreign nationals last night and there was lots of confusion in the wake of that decision. What would happen to student visa holders? Did people need to arrive in Israel before 11:59pm Sunday, depart for Israel by 11:59pm Sunday Israel time, or depart for Israel by 11:59pm Sunday local time? Those were all unknown factors last night.

I have experienced this craziness myself around Purim last year trying to get in and then trying to get out, with rules changed, websites not being updated or not working, and ridiculous rules and requirements that were bound to be revoked (ended up declaring that I wouldn't return for six months in order to be allowed out, though I knew I would be back in less than two months).
I've been waiting over 5 years with bated breath for someone to say that!

The Israeli immigration authority official website was updated today to say vaccinated students are still allowed to enter.         https://www.gov.il/he/departments/news/border_closing_coronavirus_14062020

I wonder what the Israelis will do next.
Historically I have been very vocal against the non-sense policies introduced and the many mistakes which were made. These included barring foreigners while letting Israeli travel and spread the virus freely.

TBH I think closing the airport to non-residents and requiring vaccinated residents to go into a mini quarantine makes perfect sense to me.
There is a new mutation out there which no one knows much about besides the fact that it's highly contagious. So instead of letting it spread and figure it out later, I think it makes sense to be proactive and limit the impact while scientists figure out if vaccines are working efficiently against it.

And if we find out ch"v that the vaccines do absolutely nothing for this variant, do you support going back to square one?
