Past history is that there is potential for issues every step of the way.
I think I can convince UA to let me get on the plane, and if they dont its not the end of the world as I can just go back home. I am just worried about when I land, I dont want to be sent back. Is the law official or its still not official? I know the website is for sure not updated.

Including, and not limited to Israeli government rule changes, which can be one thing when boarding, and something else when landing.
and still a third thing in the mind of the border agent.

So 1 Passenger told me that they were told they can't check in because the needed the form filled out, So they showed the form that came back that the passenger is not allowed to fly. The Airport Rep said that Israel is only opening tom. so today is too early, and he can't check in. The passenger argued back that he's landing tom. so all is OK, after going back and forth, finally he was allowed to check in!

Even if you get a digital certificate from EU?

You should be able to get a digital certificate from one of the EU countries as a tourist and use that for Israel (not taking responsibility, just a theory).

I tried to do it, but I was rejected for not having a release from isolation by an authority... it's been pretty difficult to get something like that in the US

so just to confirm with the current rules, if I'm from the USA and had covid in the past 6 months, I will still need the booster shot if my last one was more than 6 months ago?
