Family members of mine (married and living there),who have stayed in Israel and didn't come back for Pesach, say it's the best decision they have ever made.
That is pretty obvious. In E"Y as lockdown as it was it was much more of a community feel - outdoor minyanim, people talking to each other on the streets, ( like I wrote before people in E"Y now how to deal with such a thing) etc..
While in America everyone was really alone by themselves.

Nonsense. Anyone in the Tri-state area can attest to this.

I am not bragging just saying facts.
People in America had a nice Y"T תפילות  every day of Y"T with קריאת התורה... never missed a תפילה b/c of Corona, had a regular ביעור חמץ  Erev Pesach, was able to go the store etc....

Says the guy who said
I know numerous people in ny area, not one who wanted to socialize or have an outdoor minyan in the regular mainstream places had an issue. So to say everyone was at home and lonely is just incorrect.

Been saying since April that best case scenario is Chanukah

UNLESS there's some development on allowing people with antibodies to enter without quarantine (or a brief one pending a negative PCR test). If that policy would be implemented, it could be a game-changer.
I've been waiting over 5 years with bated breath for someone to say that!

When applying with a valid reason, for exemption to enter Israel (as a us citizen), and I don't have someone to host me to quarantine, hotels don't work correct?
Will i have an option of going to one of those Israeli corona hotels? Or is the only option renting an apartment? But i still won't have someone to pick me up from the airport as required.

you can go to a government run hotel.
I believe you have to foot the bill,
However renting an apartment would be much cheaper and less painful IMO.

When you land in Israel you fill out an online quarantine registration form which allows you to take a taxi home. The private car thing is a MFA mistake.

How would you get food in a rented apartment? And would the government hotel come out cheaper then regular hotel?

there are plenty of delivery options for a minimal fee (30nis)
depending on location

I don't know the prices of the hotels so can't answer.

On the health ministry website, it says israel foot's the bill, and doesn't make distinction between citizens and non citizens.
