How long is response time from the vaad?
From what I hear, the average turnaround is 2 days and they guarantee 4. True emergencies are handled effectively by Amudim.

I'm guessing as March 6 gets closer, it will be difficult to know who has authority to approve entrance for foreigners. The Foreign Ministry handled that previously via the consulates and the power was transferred to a series of committees which ended up at the Transportation Ministry, but that was only authorized until March 6 while Israeli citizens need a permit to enter.

AFAICT, nobody has the authority to approve entrance post March 6, which of course won't stop them from issuing papers the airlines may or may decide to accept.

as long as you booked a delta or united ticket [not air france points for example] then you should be able to get them to move you to the closest date they are actually flying for no additional charge
Yup, to clarify your ticket should be issued by United or Delta and ticket number starting with 016 or 006, not ticketed by a different airline on a United or Delta flight.

Got it, thanks.
Only issue is, if they’re on rotating days, Delta and United will be getting the Thursday- Shabbos slots, which would leave only one other weekday option for each US airline.

I called Delta and they gave me the same information - if the flight is cancelled they will reticket without charging more.

The ban will now remain in place for an additional 14 days, through March 6.

March 20. There is a hypothesis that by opening the borders right before then, there will be an exodus of liberal cosmopolitan voters worth a seat or two which can tip the scales in Bibbi's favor.

A relative living in Israel would like to come to the US for Pesach.
She has both Israeli and UK citizenship.
Any reason to think she would have any issues leaving Israel, entering USA?

YES. If she would try to leave today, she would probably be denied. What will happen in the future is anyone's guess.

Dual citizens: Israeli citizens who also hold foreign passports, should be subject to the same rules as Israeli. However, many have simply presented their foreign passports and been permitted to leave.

Do you know if that is no longer happening? My dual-citizen daughter is trying to get to US for her sister's wedding. She has a ticket on United for this Sunday night (Feb 21). She sent in an application for a permit but has not received any response yet.

Doesn't look like United will be flying on the 21st

Ok. On the 24th then. Do you have updated info on whether dual citizens are getting through?

Why in the world can't they have a schedule for more than one week out? Why cause additional undue hardship by further curtailing the ability to plan?

Hello all, I am a physician here in the USA and one of my patients is in the hospital in serious / terminal condition. His daughter (US citizen) is in Israel right now and has a ticket booked for next week to return to see her father, but I fear it would be too late.  As the airports in Israel are closed, what other alternatives would you smart people suggest, to enable her to leave Israel?  I was thinking perhaps driving to Amman?  I am going to write a letter for the border just in case.  Any suggested pathways out?  Thank you all.

Can't begin to fathom why, but COVID has taught everyone to change on the fly.

Is there a schedule for TLV-USA? This is just the other way.

Delta showing no flights available until 2/27.

From 2/27 on they are showing daily flights, but some days (2/28, 3/1, 3/3) are much more expensive than others.

Makes me wonder if people know which dates Delta is going tp get permission to fly on.

I've witnesses this org making things like that happen all the time.
