2600 non-Israelis entered Israel in February 2021 (344,000 in 2020)
That was probably a technical glitch You're right, although until an isolated Galatz report this morning, it didn't seem like AC would get permission to fly. There are plenty of airlines selling seats for next week that are very unlikely to fly - Turkish is a prime example.

Per the border control authority However in practice, the exceptions committee isn't strictly tied to any specific rule

I see a lot of posts about the limited flights and seats from the US but Air Canada's Sunday March 7th (YYZ-TLV) flight still seems to be scheduled and flying.   The return flight is Wednesday March 10 @ 12:55am and also seems available with lots of seats.  Even though Canada is not allowing non citizen in to the country, you can still connect through the airport (provided the connection times work) without actually entering Canada.

There isn't much mention of Air Canada as an option -- figured I'd throw this out there.

AC just cxled it

Rescheduled as AC2180 on March 10 at 13:30. The unusual timing suggests they actually got clearance from the Israeli gov.

@aygart is it OK to post tweets that were tweeted on Shabbos by another Jew on DDF?
I've been waiting over 5 years with bated breath for someone to say that!

Who told you they're in Israel?

Cancelling it only gives them a headache... There's almost no chance it will fly

Joint Prime Minister's Office-Health Ministry-Transportation Ministry Statement

(Communicated by the Prime Minister's Office, the Health Ministry and the Transportation Ministry)

The Cabinet, this evening (Saturday, 6 March 2021, after Shabbat), approved the Health Ministry regulations for the third phase for the exit plan that will begin tomorrow (Sunday, 7 March 2021).

1. The prohibition on the entry of Israelis to the country is cancelled, except for entry restrictions via the land crossings. Thus, all Israeli citizens and permanent residents will be able to enter Israel. Nevertheless, no more than 3,000 Israelis may enter per day; this number will be gradually attained during the week according to the Transportation Ministry plan.

* Up to 1,000 people may enter tomorrow (Sunday, 7 March 2021) in order to allow for the gradual opening as determined by the Transportation Ministry.

* Designated flights for new immigrants whose immigration cannot be delayed, essential foreign workers and professional athletes shall not count toward the entry quota.

2. Entry at land crossings: The Jordan River crossing shall operate up to twice a week.

3. The Taba crossing will open once for those entering from Egypt, who were there until Wednesday, 3 February 2021.

4. Those holding vaccination or recovery certificates will be able to exit Israel freely except via the Taba crossing which shall be closed.

5. The requirement to quarantine in designated hotels shall be cancelled and will be replaced by increased enforcement by the Israel Police regarding those returning from abroad who are quarantining at home.

6. To destinations to and from which there are regular flights (New York and Frankfurt), Paris, London, Kyiv, Toronto and Hong Kong shall be added.

7. Flight operators shall be obligated to send to the Transportation Ministry passenger lists for epidemiological investigation on demand. If lists are not delivered on demand, flight operators shall be subject to fines of up to NIS 5,000.

They STILL have it as on schedule. Even the 4 pm flight from EWR-TLV on Sunday is still flying on schedule. I don't want to pay for another flight until I know this one isn't going...Really stuck here.

@PlatinumGuy
Why is everyone here so adamant that Monday night’s flight will be cancelled? Don’t you all think that UA would have cancelled by now if this was indeed true? What am I missing?

The EWR>TLV flight tomorrow afternoon is showing as flying. Wouldn’t they have cancelled that already if this was true. Less than 24 hours in advance of that outgoing flight.
