Why is everyone here so adamant that Monday night’s flight will be cancelled? Don’t you all think that UA would have cancelled by now if this was indeed true? What am I missing?

The EWR>TLV flight tomorrow afternoon is showing as flying. Wouldn’t they have cancelled that already if this was true. Less than 24 hours in advance of that outgoing flight.
Because according to the internal memos regarding permitted flights, only certain flights have permission to land. I agree that it makes no sense not to let people know already, but they are probably hoping for a last minute change in policy.

AC80 YYZ-TLV on March 7 is zeroed out, and AC81 TLV-YYZ on March 10 is cancelled. New flights haven't been listed for sale yet.

Looks like YYZ - TLV is now being sold for March 10th and the return flight (TLV-YYZ) is early morning March 12th.

VS454 being sold Mar 10 with connection to JFK on VS3. Premium Economy shows $1267 but if you take the return on classic economy it goes down to $1142

But YYZ-NYC is becoming an issue until close to shabbos. Wouldn't want shabbos in quarantine hotel.

Not cheaper with miles (or delta miles)?

When I look at these 2 tweets, published 5 minutes apart.. I have a feeling that 4th lockdown is coming sooner than we think.

If hospitalizations don’t spike by March 20 I think they will open the border for foreigners for Pesach, at least vaccinated foreigners

So you think they will do a 1800 and accept foreign records?  ::)

That will put photoshop practices into hyperdrive. For all we know it could start a new "all-inclusive" Pesach hotel niche market, which will include getting all the paperwork done.
I've been waiting over 5 years with bated breath for someone to say that!

so here is a summary of the pickle im in, looking for ideas:

im booked on tomorrow night's flight tlv-ewr

united's israel desk says no chance the flight is happening

united's usa desk is swearing the flight will take off

there are no seats available on the flight.

here and there opens up a seat or 2.

i try holding the seat that opens up here and there under a different name, and cancel the flight when i ask the rep to search for availability on todays flight.

the usa reps want to charge an arm and a leg in price difference bec as mentioned my flight tomorrow is taking off, so why should i get it for free.

the israeli reps insist there is no availability on tonites flight even after i free up the seat and can see it online. im assuming they just hold it for their buddy agents.

i need to get on a flight tonite to nyc. what should i do?

@Dan @Chaikel   @PlatinumGuy @ExGingi @tavster @ anyone who can help

Call a travel agent? Can you cancel the flight for a refund and try to book a connection? It's really nuts, my son is checked in for tomorrow's day flight and United is still leaving EWR today at 4!

How do you contact Israeli United desk?

Get the Israelis to notate the reservation that the flight will be cancelled and use that to get the Americans to rebook

Do you think United just wants to mess with this route as revenge? Why in the world would they issue boarding passes for cancelled flights and not let the passengers work out alternate arrangements?!
