Did you say you were around someone with symptoms?
I wasn't (and even if I was wiling to lie, he made it clear that anything that would get me a test would land me in bidud)

I didn't press, I need for my kids as well anyways. Either way, I will go in to the kupah. If I get denied at the desk, you just ask to speak to the administrator and tell them the other kupot are offering it, and if they want to lose my business, I can go elsewhere

My advice:

Schedule your test in advance at Shamir Medical Center, so you can take it shortly after arrival (depending on time of arrival you might need to do it the next day). You will have to quarantine upon arrival, but are allowed to exit quaranting for testing. IME while they say results in 24-48 hours it is more like 6 hours for a test taken around 10am (can't tell you what happens at other times) and at ILS 150 it is the cheapest place around.

If you are heading to JLM, you might want to do it at Hadassah. I don't know if it needs to be scheduled, but I believe it is ILS 350 and someone told me he got results in 5 hours.

Once you get the results you need to submit an online quarantine exit request. IME they respond several hours later. If your quarantine isn't supervised, just make sure you don't get stopped by law enforcement and you should be OK even before getting the official cancellation of quarantine.

Thanks for this -- do you know if after getting the release from quarantine that it'll mean I then have the green passport?  So I don't have to do the test each time I enter Israel?

I'm sure that there are many passengers who will not be departing on these flights due to the uncertainty regarding coming back in after Pesach. Question is, how do people get those seats?

Currently, that doesn't entitle you to a green passport. What happens with subsequent visits is anyone's guess.

Supposedly they are working on the ability for people who recovered or got vaccinated outside of Israel to obtain a green passport based on an Israeli antibody test, but there's no timeframe as to when that will actually be available.

I am hoping to go again after Pesach, and if nothing changes, I plan to submit a request to exit quarantine as soon as I board the flight.

Here's a follow-up story:

https://www.ynet.co.il/news/article/HkJSfVGQd

This guy was quite unfortunate.

While I didn't check after my quarantine was canceled, I did have someone check with law enforcement for me while I was in unsupervised quarantine, just to see if I'm officially in quarantine (and subject to a fine if caught violating).

My advice to this guy would be to just go ahead and get out. In all likelihood, law enforcement iPads would be updated (they update overnight) to show that he isn't required to quarantine. If he would be stopped and issued a fine, it would be canceled with the documentation he had.
I've been waiting over 5 years with bated breath for someone to say that!

This is the new procedure for foreigners to enter:

Just called to get PCR tests from Meuchedet and was denied. Will try in person tomorrow
The media reported the Kupot are overwhelmed because people need to test every 2-3 days to comply with green passport restrictions.
