Stage 1 complete. Apparently NYC health+ now requires a physical copy of birth certificate in order to test minors. What a nightmare this was for us

Part of a list of nightmares created by sticking to procedures rather than allowing sensible exceptions.
I've been waiting over 5 years with bated breath for someone to say that!

Not sure that’s what happened here, could have been a clueless/moronic employee there making up rules that didn’t exist because it made sense to them. Same result, but the opposite from sensible exceptions, the exact thing standardized procedures are meant to prevent.

The Israeli cabinet is in deadlock since it can't convene without dual consent from both Bibbi & Gantz, and Gantz is refusing to convene without putting his confirmation as acting Justice minister on the agenda which Bibbi won't do. Allegedly it already caused a delay in a shipment from Pfizer since their payment wasn't processed.

There are some testing & quarantine related directives that should be expiring on April 5 & April 8. I'm not sure if they are holding telephone votes on routine extensions or even that is frozen. AFAIK, rules relating to foreigners entering are being set by the Immigration Authority and don't require a cabinet vote, but I could be wrong. The current rules expire April 8.

those are being handled by the institution, pending new rules that are being held up, as discussed above.

Tests were taken a little after 5 PM on Friday and results were received on Shabbos morning at 10:55
6 negative Covid tests, 6 negative antibody tests (despite me having gotten the vaccine and my wife having tested positive!!)
Went tonight to a heimish matzav in woodmere, testing out if a house. They said we would have results by tomorrow

A family of US citizens with young children who were not vaccinated but tested positive for antibodies last August, has a trip to Israel scheduled for late July.
1 - Should they be doing anything now or just wait until June to see where things are holding?
2 - Should they be getting their hopes up that a) they'll be allowed in to Israel and b) they'll be allowed to tour the country without having to quarantine first (their whole trip is only for ten days)?

There’s enough time for the adults to get fully vaccinated (2-dose mRNA + 2 weeks). I don’t know if it would make a difference but perhaps it’s an option to consider.

True.
But what about the kids?

I don’t think anyone knows. Things in Israel could change tomorrow, I don’t think anyone can possibly have any idea how things will look in July.

For all you know Israel could have most Israeli 12+ vaccinated by the end of July if clinical trial results get published/peer-reviewed soon. Preliminary results are already out and seem very promising.

But how likely that in the US kids will be able to get vaccinated by then - if that's what will be needed for them to enter Israel?

IMHO the chances that unvaccinated kids traveling from abroad wonder around the country freely without quarantine are low - but by then lots can change
