PSA: Make sure that you get the correct wording of your PCR test to leave Israel.
Someone I know was denied boarding last night

1) Document details (section headings) weren't in English
2) Didn't say negative

This test was done at a regular Clallit but they weren't able to print via the website or app thus the secretary printed it.  Seems like she printed the wrong format.

There weren't 4 hours before the flight which would have been enough to get tested at the airport and receive a printed result before boarding.  Oh well, 2 more days before the next flight to her destination.

IF you have all your ID properly linked and entered,  i.e. your HMO number with your results, and passport and phone and birthday it can work.

Yup, I never got it to work through the site, but tav yarok was on Meuchedet app. Not that I've ever needed it though

Must be a member of Kupat Holim.

Harel (and possibly other insurance companies) are now selling visitor insurance (not sure if Israeli Citizenship required) that gives a Kupat Cholim membership for the time purchased. https://www.harel-group.co.il/Insurance/foreign/policies/Pages/tour-and-care.aspx  and English application here. you can apply directly or through an Israeli Insurance agent.

ETA: Also Ayalon (both Harel and Ayalon give Clalit membership) https://www.ayalon-ins.co.il/insurance/health/foreigns-emploies-and-turists/about/

Seems like Harel sells to age 75. Ayalon to age 65.

For longer stays Maccabi sells directly (any age) but prices it monthly. https://www.maccabi4u.co.il/3423-he/Maccabi.aspx?TabId=30607_7475

You don't need a PCR test to return to Israel if you leave for less than 72 hours - any idea how they calculate the 72 hours?

Why not Meuhedet? AFAIK they will insure tourists for ~100nis a month (excludes births)

Also re the green passport, friend of mine (student on Meuhedet) got his, for his wife it didn't work.

As opposed to numerous erroneous and or misleading reports, this does not mean that Israel is opening its borders to foreign tourists.

Also, they just don't know how to read

foreign family members will be able to apply for and obtain entry permits to enter Israel for various special circumstances such as simchas (weddings, bar mitzvahs and births), medical emergencies, deaths and to visit lone soldiers.

I believe minimum is 7 days. These are Harel rates off their website:

Young people can definitely get better rates elsewhere if all they care about is the medical coverage, but the ability to get a Kupat Cholim membership which will (might) allow for vaccination in Israel is unique. The question is whether one gets it twice, does the same Kupat Cholim ID apply, and will the info remain on file.
