That's for sure. Is there any data though?
So far all the data is suggesting this variant (along with any other anticipated mutation) does not evade vaccines significantly.

Israel is working on further confirmation with the Indian variant to be more sure.

So when there's a will there's a way to have antibody testing at the airport (with the question about the outcome for those that aren't above the threshold unanswered). Will this be implemented otherwise?

As written before, it was in the check2fly pipeline. Not sure how the contract change will impact the plan

I'd love to know the answer to this too. It seems COVID tests in israel are ridiculously expensive for no reason other than to make money off the tourists.  The average COVID test costs a provider $5 or less in the US.

Would love if someone could break down affordable places to test, including ANTIBODY testing post-landing. I do see various free covid testing sites in Jerusalem, but are those for citizens only?

fake news- most cities have free pct testing via pikud haoref. the reason that private testing is expensive is that most people have israeli insurnace and its fully free. American labs have quoted me $350 usd for a 12 hour result pcr test. also- you can antibodie test in sharei tzedek for 224nis. not that expensive

I guess everything is relative.
For lots of people $70 is expensive.

when taking a cross Atlantic trip- during corona. this is a logical thing to demand (if successful this will be probably the path to full reopening) and not a large amount of money in the scheme of a vacation. you would pay that in a restaurant without blinking an eye.

Many people wouldn't.
I know numerous people who have traveled to Israel that have never done that.
Like I said, everything is relative.

Supreme Court invalidated the bid that awarded the contract for TLV covid test to the current provider.  Will go to the next bidder. Prices expected to double.

https://twitter.com/gotomichal/status/1387768607069847560

And now comes the news that free tests upon arrival will be ending. Everyone will need to pay for the test.

Yes in terms  of being able to apply to enter as a relative of a citizen but no in term of automatic exception from quarantine.

No. (Actually people might have ideas, but those probably have nothing to do with reality).
