We keep hearing evidence of earlier and earlier cases of the virus in NYC and other places as early as January. If it took from Jan to Mid March for it to become serious in NYC, how long would a second wave take to show up if there is one?
A family member of mine knows someone in CA (not jewish) who's high school son and most of his classmates seemingly had symptoms in December. At that time they couldn't figure out what it was, they took him to a pulmonologist but he couldn't figure out what was wrong.
Depends on many factors. There are many more immune people walking around, plus some semblance of social distancing measures and extra precautions by higher risk groups. There are also environmental factors like temperatures rising (assumed slower spread) and hurricanes (quicker spread due to packed groceries and shared shelters). Super spreader events can also play a big role, as they tend to speed things up. In that regard, I think a lot will hinge on how this country handles Memorial Day and July 4th weekends.
This will likely be a big factor, between the social distancing measures, even if they are significantly relaxed, high risk people being extra careful, and the number of people with immunity I highly doubt it will flare up as rapidly as the first time around.
