Kosher School Meals
I know I'm opening a can of worms
post what you school gives for grab n' go meals
some go out of there way to please their students others get away with murder
in BP I hear its a competition just like Day Camp who gives better menu

(Not what I get, but partial list of what one of my family members gets weekly for one kid. I didnt remember the whole list, but it filled up 3 bingo boxes.)

Um, closest school location started telling my kids "they need a card" (they're obviously giving cards to families who send to their school only). I think this is unfair & figure I'll just go there myself today since my kids are too intimated to speak up in front of other people.

Any suggestions what to say? I imagine if I tell them "it's not legal" they'll have some snide comeback....

Maybe that is the other program mentioned above which is only for students of that school? I also know of a school which requires preregistration to ensue adequate supply but anyone can register.

My daughters' school has a really good cook, and have been sending out good meals.

Omelets
Israeli Salad (made with quality Persian cucumbers and good tomatoes)
Roasted mini potatoes
Cottage cheese
Vegetable Soup
Zucchini quiche
Fish Sticks
Rice
Fruit cup
Lasagna
Pancakes
Milk
Tuna salad (not the garbage that Borenstein gives that has breadcrumbs and other fillers in it!)
Hard-boiled eggs


Boys' school:
Bread
Milk
Cereal (cornflakes and/or rice crispies)
Potato knishes
Rice
Israeli salad (edible - not nearly as good as what's given by the girls' school).
Apples
Tuna salad (not as good as girls' school)

Borenstein should be shown the door out. Maybe if they get Weiss to cater the public school provided grab-n-go meals, I'd revisit.

The Hebrew Day School will be servicing the Sullivan County area with breakfast and lunch food boxes.
To receive your food box delivered to your unit once a week beginning next Wednesday, July 1st.
