The Mayo has two tests, COR2G (to be discontinued 6/10) and VCOV2 (its successor).
The bikur cholim test was the OLD COR2G test (it will say this on the results)
for COR2G test:
Less than 1.01 is negative
between 1.01 and 1.20 is indecisive
more than 1.2 is positive

Please complete the poll for you and any family members who have tested for antibodies. Let me know if I missed any important options. Please only complete if you tested for antibodies and got the results already.

Thanks!

Let's hear some more details from the person who voted "Symptomatic, previously confirmed COVID positive, negative for antibodies". Did the diagnostic test have known issues with false positives?

Not everyone who gets sick or gets a vaccine will develop antibodies. Thus the additional need for herd immunity.

Relative of mine, tested positive for Covid-19 on March 22. Did the Lakewood Bikur Cholim Mayo Clinic blood test on April 19 and was negative for antibodies.

Had symptoms, and wife tested positive for Covid-19 as well.

Thanks for the DP. Is it possible that less than 5 weeks wasn’t enough for the antibodies to build up?

Yeah, but they think it's an extremely small percentage. Could be the one that voted that way is in that group, but is it less likely than a false positive from the diagnostic test?
Quote from: https://www.nytimes.com/2020/05/07/health/coronavirus-antibody-prevalence.html
The team tested 624 people who had tested positive for the virus and had recovered. At first, just 511 of them had high antibody levels; 42 had low levels; and 71 had none. When 64 of the subjects with weak or no levels were retested more than a week later, however, all but three had at least some antibodies.
It can also be that the antibody test was too early for this person.

False positive from the diagnostic is highly unlikely here - he had symptoms and his wife tested positive too.

I'd say it's more likely that the antibodies hadn't developed yet. Even though it was 4 weeks.

Or perhaps he’s just one of those who don’t develop antibodies. One study said the prevalence was higher, but perhaps they’re wrong?

3 weeks should be enough.

I tested negative (below threshold) for antibodies about a month after onset of symptoms and positive two weeks after that.

No symptoms, didn't test for covid or antibodies.

Any reason for me to get tested for antibodies if I dont live in a highly infected area?
I was pretty careful but I was in the same room for a short time with ppl who came from NY who later developed mild symptoms and tested positive for antibodies

did you take the same test twice? Some tests are more reliable then others

Mayo clinic test taken at the Flatbush antibody drive on 4/22 came back negative. Mt Sinai test at a Mt Sinai facility on 5/6 came back on the high end of positive (enough antibodies to donate plasma).

There is no such thing as a false positive on PCR test.

Source? It may be true theoretically, but not necessarily in practice.

A PCR test reacts to viral cells (RNA). It doesn’t react if there are no viral cells.

Should also depend if it's the positive/negative test, or the Mt. Sinai / Mayo test.
Workflowy. You won't know what you're missing until you try it.
