The Mayo has two tests, COR2G (to be discontinued 6/10) and VCOV2 (its successor).
The bikur cholim test was the OLD COR2G test (it will say this on the results)
for COR2G test:
Less than 1.01 is negative
between 1.01 and 1.20 is indecisive
more than 1.2 is positive

Per their website Mayo is using a test without even an EUA and claimed specifity of around 85%
That’s 85% confidence in s negative result. What is the sensitivity (confidence in positive results)? Many newer tests approach 100%

Who does Labcorp use? Are they giving titer numbers?
Took Labcorp test last week and got positive results for antibodies (no real symptoms). They use DiaSorin test.
You don’t get any numbers only positive or negative.

If true would go a long way in explaining why some people very exposed didn't catch corona and why some people get it only mildly and others very severely

ETA I now see this was mentioned in the good news thread but still relevant to some of the questions discussed here

I am in the same boat got a positive from quest (Abbott labs) without a number. Also I would love to know what my number was when I took the test as in the other thread there are reports of it going down - so it would be helpful to know what my initial number was.
In Cleveland, all the Doctors affiliated with the clinic don't buy into the antibody test, and claim they are waiting for the Cleveland Clinic to come out with one. Hopefully something will be available soon.

It seems like now they have a new test - I assume most took the old test. https://news.mayocliniclabs.com/covid19/

Laboratory Updates
COVID-19 Laboratory Update: May 20 | Serology Testing
Mayo Clinic Laboratories Serology Test Has Emergency Use Authorization

Mayo Clinic Laboratories is now offering a new serology test with Emergency Use Authorization (EUA). This test is used to identify the presence of an immune response to SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19.

Current clients who were ordering the previous serology test (Test ID: COR2G) will be transitioned to the new test (Test ID: VCOV2). Please reach out to your local representative with questions.

The serology testing is intended only to detect antibodies to the virus, not to diagnose recent or active infection, and it cannot pinpoint the date of exposure. The development of an IgG antibody response to SARS-CoV-2 takes time. While some individuals become seropositive between 8 and 14 days post-symptom onset, over 95% are positive after day 14. As a result, this testing is only advised to be performed on individuals at least 10 days after initial symptom onset or at least 10 days after a known exposure. Importantly, some individuals, particularly those who are immunosuppressed, may never develop a detectable immune response (i.e., antibodies).

As a trusted partner, Mayo Clinic Laboratories remains committed to providing timely, accurate test results that inform optimal patient care despite the unprecedented challenges all of us in health care continue to face.

Is this what you are referring to?
https://www.fda.gov/media/137367/download

Seems like it is close to 0% false positive but up to 15% false negative.

What I’d like to know is if this means that the true prevalence of antibodies is actually far greater . For example, if 1000 random people are tested and 200 of them come back positive for antibodies we would say that 20% of the population has antibodies. But aren’t we missing something? If close to 100% of the 200 people who tested positive are really positive, but approximately 15% of those who tested negative were actually positive, wouldn’t that mean that approximately another 120 people (800 negative x 15%) were actually positive so the real number is 32% of the population having antibodies? Are we underestimating the antibody percentage in the general population big time?

Four adults tested.
One person had mild symptoms headache, body aches, chest pain for a couple of days.
One adult going out to make deliveries, adhering to social distancing, etc and exposed to sick people with precautions.
Other two basically homebound, with one doing the essential shopping trip once a week.
No one has antibodies according to Bikur cholim tests of last week. Not happy!

Anecdotally not as per the 4 people I know (which doesn't mean anything for actual stats).

Is there any data out there about how the different tests compare to each other? IE: what # on the Mayo test corresponds to what # on the Mt. Sinai test? And what about whichever test is giving a number between 1 and 15?

that information would be more useful if we knew the level of symptoms of these people. They weren't requiring you had symptoms for the test so many people (like my brother) took the test even though they had no symptoms and predictably came back negative. I had symptoms (in bed 4 days fever etc) and was positive. DW had mild symptoms still waiting for the results

4 relatives with symptoms all came back positive. Ranging from 1.8 to 4.4.

I don't see where that link refers to sensitivity or specificity rates. I also had symptoms (but negative test at the time), and the Bikur Cholim/Mayo Clinic COR2G test was negative for antibodies. Can't find anything online re sensitivity (i.e. false negative rate), only anecdotal reports of unreasonably high false-negatives in Lakewood and Mayo Clinic's announcement that they are switching to the new test with an EUA.

It would make sense that we’d start seeing more negatives now because at first it was only people testing with the assumption that they had the virus. Now people like my brother who don’t think they’ve had it are testing because it’s a requirement for reentering Yeshiva and many shuls.
