Hands down, the most beneficial Mosaic perk prior to COVID induced flexibility, was free changes.
However, as a Mosaic member myself, I've taken advantage of other significant perks that remain exclusive to Mosaics.
For me, the most lucrative benefit is the ability to use points to upgrade to even more space, and at a fraction of the value (calculating the $$ to points conversion)
For reference : on a most recent flight, the upcharge to Even More Space ran around the $80's, while the points redemption for that same seat upgrade was 600 points. 1:1 conversion makes that $6! Beyond generous imo.
Also, given the low number of elites, I almost always wound up with the seat next to me unoccupied in even more space section.
I've frequently been the only passenger pre-boarding in Mosaic line. Hence, the value of certain benefits is inflated by virtue of the low number of elites.
The exclusive Mosaic phone line should not be underestimated either.
Granted, value derived will depend on future travel patterns, something that remains uncertain for the majority of the traveling public; but $75 could be the value extracted of just one leg of a trip, leveraging the seat upgrade possibility and the 2 free bags alone.
Just my take.

Very good roundup! I would easily pay at least $250 for this status. I exclusively fly Jetblue on all my transcon flights the last few years because of my mosaic status!

Agree with almost everything in your post, except this really depends on the route.  Sometimes I board and they'll say "so you're our Mosaic for today."  But on JFK-FLL flights I've seen 20+ mosaics on line.

I always do LAX_JFK and very rarely has there been more than 5 total mosaics. They treat me like a VIP (almost) always, as if I am in first class. (Eh, not AA first  :))  On a side note, I flew their mint class a few times and definitely the best transcon business class (especially for kosher travelers!)

Also want to point out why I'm thinking of gifting status to my wife.  When we fly as a family I used to book for myself with $ bc it was worth it to earn the extra points and work towards re-earning status as a Mosaic and for the rest of the family on points.  That was when one piece of luggage was free for everyone.  With the new luggage fees we all have to go on one reservation to get my Mosaic benefits.  If my wife has Mosaic we can go back to the previous method (at least for now).  Thoughts?

Sounds like a great idea to me!

Agreed. If I were selling mine, based on the value I get, I wouldn't sell for less than $500.

Normally I'd agree, but this is (probably) no normal 12 months...

I wouldn't sell for less than 300. Anyone who flies 2 RT with it gets more value than that if flying to the right cities with 2 or 3 PAX.

Doesn't have to be to get well in excess of $250 in value.

I feel like we're going in circles here.  I'm saying even in an abnormal year like this year, a single trip, family of four with luggage, EMS seats, and a single same day change, would make up >$250.  Let alone free redeposit, dedicated mosaic line, etc.

COVID free changes are more flexible than Mosaic free changes, hence the depressed value.
The 6/1 nomination deadline also depresses the value, as does the limited 12 month window.

COVID free changes

.... which end May 31.

For the third time, even accounting for all of the negatives you and whYME have outlined, it's still worth well in excess of the $250 being discussed, and certainly far more than $75 being offered.

Been extended 3 times. I'd be surprised if it wasn't extended again.

That being said, clearly it's worth much more than $100.

I'm not convinced that the fact that you could get $250 worth of goods/services with a single flight means it's necessarily worth that now. If I would actually be spending $250+ on extras for every flight then it would be a no-brainer.

Regardless, I'm sure in another few months I'll regret not buying it when I had the chance
