Although this is not universally agreed upon.

Very interesting,  hadn't heard this before. I don't think it's safe to say smokers are lower risk based off of that data.

I see that those articles are both written from numbers in French hospitals. Per stats from 2010, most smokers in France are younger, which may be why they aren't showing up in hospitals with Covid. (https://www.statista.com/statistics/785664/consumption-daily-tobacco-according-to-age-france/)

I'm down about 15lbs thanks to the time I had no appetite, followed by the time I felt too weak and was exhausted after chewing just one or two bites of food. Working hard on keeping it off and trying to continue some eating habits to hopefully drop more.
I've been waiting over 5 years with bated breath for someone to say that!

Pick an exercise video on YouTube that works for you and do it for 1 week
You will see it will change everything about your day
Won’t binge eat as much as will feel stronger mentally and physically
Doesn’t have to be anything crazy just something you can keep up with

I chose this one and found it very feasible

I would've thought the disproportionate adverse effects of the virus on the obese would be a final motivation to lose weight. Ditto for smoking.

You seem to imply that anyone who is overweight has unhealthy eating habits/isnt trying to lose weight.  Far from the truth.

Far from the truth? Not really (speaking as one who is obese)

It’s not simple. Some has to do with unhealthy habits but it has a lot to do with genetics and daily routine. There are many studies showing links to gut bacteria as well. People who have lost weight still find themselves having to struggle mightily to resist a second helping months later while many thin people don’t even feel the urge to eat more. Then there is income level. If you can afford gourmet  prepared salads, ready made soups, grilled chicken, and salmon from the stores or eateries and stock your home with the same it’s a lot easier than those who’s go to food choice is affordable pasta, rice, and potatoes .

So if I understand you correctly, I'm obese not because I have unhealthy eating habits, but rather because genetically I am predisposed to overeat especially fried and high calorie/fat foods. Got it.

Point is, being overweight is mostly a function of unhealthy eating habits. Why one has those habits or whether someone has a bigger challenge than others doesn't change that.

Right. And it's not your fault, as your role model stocks her freezer with ice cream.

You may be overweight because you snack on fries and high calorie/fat food. Does not mean everyone who is overweight has your eating habits. There are many people who are overweight due to having children, genetic disposition or as a side effect from meds,  among other reasons.  It also doesn't mean that people who are overweight are not frustrated with their weight and are trying to shed the excess weight.  Oh, and it also doesn't mean that skinny people eat healthier. We all know those who snack on junk all day and it has no effect on them.

All is good BH. (The few around here who know me, I'm actually very skinny.... And I have terrible eating habits )
Was just saying IMHO, that it's not fair to put smokers and obese people in the same category, as many of them have it beyond their control, and it's not fair to judge them. Not that we should necessarily judge smokers either.....

Gained 7-10 lbs. Barely any exercise, eating more, and way more alcohol.

I'm sorry, but going on the scale is only mildly essential, and is in phase 4 of my reopening plan. Get back to me then.

Roughly the same weight. I did gain a few pounds but lost it when I started watching how much I was eating out of boredom (and only ate healthy for a week when I realized what was happening).
I'm not who you think I am.
