Quote from: RavYisroelReisman
It is very crucial that people go with an Ayin Tov. Many of us are nervous. We have been in cabin fever for two months and we are not in our normal spirit of joy. I am so afraid that people are going to come to Shul and see someone else may be standing too close or with a mask that is not properly worn or without a mask. That such people are going to end up being involved in a Machlokes. Chas V’shalom, Machlokes is far more dangerous than any virus in the world. Machlokes between Yidden especially if people are going to have a Machlokes in Shul. Please, when we go back to Shul do it with an Ayin Tov. Bring Beracha to everyone around you. It should be with a great joy and a great Hatzlacha.

meanwhile:

Rabbi Reisman's shul is my shul the Rav was coordinating all the minyanim since Thursday between the main shul, ezras nashim, and simcha hall.
I've seen him at almost every minyan so far and everyone is keeping to all his guidelines. Everyone at every minyan was wearing a mask.
Rabbi Reisman is doing an amazing job!

My Shul (which was open on Shabbos with restrictions) sent out an email that there won’t be shacharis on Sunday and everyone should please daven with backyard minyanim

Our shul reopened this shabbos only for people who didn't have access to outdoor/porch minyan. Everyone who wanted attend has to signup beforehand and social distancing was practiced.

There is something so beautiful about this. Here you have a rov who is personally doing his fullest to ensure the safety of his congregants, but at the same time, promoting shalom and saying not to cause machlokes if someone isn't playing by all the rules.

Bergen county, NJ- Shul closed, outdoor minyanim offically still banned, Psak Halacha universally that minyanim are still assur.

I expect outdoor to start around 6/1, with heavy restrictions.
Teaneck?

Teaneck?
Me personally - Fair Lawn. But teaneck is the same. Any outdoor or house minyanim that are happening are blatantly against the Vaad (Rcbc) and by extention, every participating shul rabbi.

I'll be the first to break the ice I guess...

In BP most shulls were open, packed with no social distancing what's so ever.

Corona is a thing of the past. Not a single new case in weeks... (the official new cases being released is probably people retesting)

Hospitalizations rate (which is the only accurate indicator) of suspected covid cases in New York City is about 20 a day.

I passed by munkatch which was packed and a police car was in front of the shull doing nothing..

I love this thread (and others similar) They show how we are so close but so far apart.

One community in the tri-state area still has a complete ban, orders have yard minyanim, others are fully opened without any restrictions.

P.S. just another example how we can be so close but so far
A litvish bucher and father sat down next to me in Shul learning.
The young boy points out to his father that he found a kidushin gamara next to a chasidush guy.
He points out to his father how weird this was! Kedushin is a yeshivash mesechta, and chasidim don't learn that they learn weird mesechtus

I was lucky to be able to get into 770 this morning.

There were 10 numbered "seats" probably 20 feet apart from each other, each with a face mask, gloves and a box of tissues.

#1 was at the main omud, had a face mask and gloves, but no box of tissues.

This  isn't the main omud

After accounting for the Gabbay and the few that help control the situation, there are only a few more who are allowed in by גורל or other merits. For example, this morning there was a bar-mitzvah bochur there, his father and one grandfather were allowed in. Another grandfather initially came in, but was told to go out despite sitting far away from everyone else.
I've been waiting over 5 years with bated breath for someone to say that!

Okay, getting this thread back on track (or trying to anyway), I live in Flatbush and have been davening alone at home (not outdoor minyan) since Shabbos Vayakhel-Pekudei. While I was excited by the prospect of finally getting back to tefillah b'tzibbur, I was quite hesitant about implementation of rules and compliance.

Thursday night I ventured out for my first minyan in months to a shul with a Rav that I trusted would do things properly. The minyan was by sign-up only, and there were only 13 people there (in a huge room) and it went pretty smoothly. Friday morning I went back to that same shul, and there were 17 people in the minyan, of whom 2 showed up without masks, 3 who came in masks removed them, and there was a meshulach circulating - insane!

Shabbos I went to my usual shul (which wasn't open until then), which has 3 levels - simcha hall in basement, main shul, and ezras nashim. They had 2 zmanim for Friday night and 2 for Shabbos morning, with 2 minyanim at each time, one in the social hall (10 people), and another upstairs with 10 on the main floor and 10 in the ezras nashim. Seats were assigned and marked off in blue tape. B"H I davened all tefillos there (in the ezras nashim), and compliance was quite excellent, clearly helped by the Rav's presence.

This morning I went to shacharis elsewhere and ended up davening alone in the ezras nashim due to people not wearing masks. Mincha I tried yet another option that had 27 people reasonably spread out, but with 7 (25%) wearing their masks over their chins or mouths, but not noses. Compared to other communities this may sound okay, but to me, it's not. It's a disgrace to be so cavalier with people's lives, and with shul rules for entry.

Looks like I'll be sticking to my Shabbos minyan for the foreseeable future. Sad that we've waited so long to come back home, and people can't have enough respect for their fellow Jew to follow the rules and let others feel safe in shul.

The rules as outlined here: https://forums.dansdeals.com/index.php?topic=116348.msg2258947#msg2258947 were completely kept to. There were 10 people in the Bais Medresh and 4 in the Ezras Nashim all wore masks and kept social distancing.

Where I davened there were more than 10 people but each family was on their own table far enough apart.

180 off-topic, argumentative, and ad-hominem posts removed and dumped into the "Coronavirus and your Shul" dumpster fire.

Any post in this thread not directly related to someone's experience in shul this past Shabbos will result in an immediate one-week suspension. Let's see if we can keep one thread in this board on-topic.
