I've personally already been attacked by liberals in ..... for not wearing a mask even though I have been over 6ft away from them.  It's already to a degree emotional and political.

How did you identify the attackers as liberals?

While it dosnt take two geniuses to figure it out, they have thru their request revealed enough info, for me to come to that determination.

In a Liberal location
By reform Jews
Pro democratic government statement
And for some reason they only worried for me as I'm Jewish, all the other people they didn't care about, just such good hearts.

I was over 15ft distance from them.

Some think of masks as a saviour,  with induced political thinking.

While some say its important to wear while close to others, there is no need to always wear one just because someone can see you in public.

If it will make someone else feel safer, that's reason enough

Seriously? If it wasn't you I would say go find a different place to troll!

While it dosnt take two geniuses to figure it out, they have thru their request (?) revealed enough info, for me to come to that determination.
Was it a request or an attack?

FTFY. Nothing democratic about them or their party.
I've been waiting over 5 years with bated breath for someone to say that!

I must've forgot to write, "verbally" attacked for aprox. 2 minutes. It was not physical.

They requested nicely at first and then just started harassing.

I can't edit orginal post anymore.

I never took it to mean anything other than a verbal attack.

Knowing the ilk, you could have probably identified them as libs based on their body language and intonation, even before they finished uttering the first word out of their mouths.

Knowing the elk, you could have probably identified them based on their light beige “rump patch” and typically contrasting darker legs and neck to their lighter bodies even before they finished uttering the first word out of their mouths.

When this whole thing started we still had a pack of masks at home that my son got last year for severe allergy days. But those are long gone. Any mask purchased recently simply doesn't fit. Those ear loops are too small and are painful (in addition to the mask making it harder to breath).

If I'd know I can get quality, we'll fitting masks, I wouldn't have that much of a problem wearing one.

Not part of my skillset. I also don't find it that critical, as I'm mostly around the same people. When I go shopping I put one on and suffer.

Ask any local tailor or F&F with a machine.
There some guides how to just cut a sock...

I posted a sock cutting video somewhere on DDF. So you think that those masks are effective, or are they just for show? Maybe DDMS should start posting deals on 100% Egyptian cotton (or some other high quality material) socks ideal to be cut into masks?

I actually had a great mask manufacturing business idea (not related to socks) this morning. Anyone so inclined is welcome to PM.

84 degrees expected tomorrow in NYC. I wonder how that will affect mask compliance.

I was in Flatbush this past Shabbos, and out of deference to rules kept by the community (at large, not necessarily of the specific shul where I davened) wore a mask for most of davening (though it should be noted that these masks were provided through councilman Deutsch, were NOT made in China and didn't pull and hurt ears like most masks sold).

The last time I wore a mask for so long was when Hatzala took me to the ER after having a near syncope (most likely due to loss of appetite which resulted in almost fasting for 2 days). Back then I felt that the mask was the only thing causing difficulty breathing.

While wearing the mask, and keeping in mind this article (lots of interesting and free articles on marckmanuals.com) and many other comments that see to indicate that the masks are more as protection from spreading, rather than contracting COVID-19, and trying to feel unrestricted breathing and not fogging up my glasses, I experimented with various mask wearing methods (only mouth) only nose, pulling the bottom out to allow air, etc.

The article from John Mauldin and Dr. Mike Roizen that I posted elsewhere on DDF today points to unexplained regional differences of COVID-19 infections, and tries to "rule out" population density by citing HK as a highly desne area with low infection rates. To me that ignores the cultural difference of face masks being much more common and prevalant in Asia.

As the weather gets more hot and humid, and as the majority of surgical masks available for purchase are uncomfortable Chinese made mask, it is inevitable that compliance will go down. IIRC I posted somewhere that in Singapore the government is dispensing 2 masks per week for every person. I heard that Dr. Roberts in his video was proposing draconian fines.

How about just coming up with some common sense masks. If it's all about preventing aerosoles from being greatly disperesed, then it's definitely the mouth that needs covering, not so much the nose. Any major dispersing of aerosoles will come from exhaling, coughing, sneezing, shouting and singing - all mostly through the mouth.

I feel that a standard of MOUTH COVERINGS rather than face coverings should be encouraged, by providing adequate COMFORTABLE TO WEAR such coverings, coupled with enforcement, rather than the uncomfortable and unenforced options that exist now.
