Someone needs to bring a case based on if WM gets to be opened as essential service then houses of worship should also be opened because they are essential services. Until that happens it is only opinion for all of us. It is telling that when they were completely shut down they didn't try.

You think some state is going to say political rallies are essential? IMHO that would get struck down in heartbeat.

But none were religious. The argument made by the states and agreed to by SCOTUS was that this is dependent on it being regulated in the same manner as other similar activities.

SCOTUS decides on what is put before them. Someone could say that places should be open because they are essential. IMHO they haven't taken that approach because it would be a slam dunk loss. WM is open because it is essential not because of its SD/gathering policy. Now we disagree on this and that is fine.

essentiality isn't the only factor the states have considered when deciding what to allow and what to close

Agudath Israel reached out to Captain Richard Taylor of the NYPD Community Affairs Bureau who has informed us that religious services are considered essential and are not in violation of the curfew.

Not sure how much weight to give it.
If liquor stores are essential would that mean you can violate curfew to buy liquor. Does not make sense.

If I'm on my way to religious services and I'm stopped, I should say I'm just protesting.
If I'm on my way to protest after curfew, I should say I'm on my way to religious services, @CountValentine  is the only one who gets out, and do as I say, not as I do ואידך פירושא. זיל גמור. (Actually don't. It'll just be a giant waste of brain power)
