1) It's not just 'Jewish' stores participating in this initiative. It's part of a larger campaign by MANY businesses across the city and state to get media attention to reach the tone deaf Mayor and Governor.

2) I'm going to assume that you don't own a retail business that has been devastated by COVID-19. It's very easy to sit behind a screen and judge. People's financial lives and careers are literately being squeezed to death by these Socialist politicians and these store owners will do whatever they can, to open in a responsible and safe manor.

https://www.theyeshivaworld.com/news/featured/1864206/videos-williamsburg-and-boro-park-residents-protest-the-nyc-sheriff-dept-after-shutting-down-stores.html
I saw this earlier. Very disturbing! This is a terrible Chillul Hashem! I am not saying the store owners are wrong for what they are doing. They are respectfully protesting. The bystanders who are not practicing the recommendations of wearing a mask and social distancing convincing themselves that they are helping the cause by treating the police with disrespect are kind of pathetic and unfortunately they create an image that we are all like that.

In the link posted by @shaulyaakov, the lawyer involved in the #ReopenNY movement actually said that he will not represent any stores who do not comply with social distancing recommendations and who do not treat the police the proper way.

If you are referring to the images/video on YWN, no they were not.
