SpaceX has begun building a launchpad for its Starship rockets in Florida, CEO Elon Musk announced on Friday, as the company looks to add another location to launch the mammoth rocket that is in development.

Starship is the massive, next-generation rocket SpaceX is developing to launch cargo and people on missions to the moon and Mars.

NASA said that "approval is only to build at this time," with authorization for launches and landings requiring a separate approval process.

Yup, saw the same thing on the way to shul for maariv M"S. And then on Monday night I saw 30+ bright dots moving in a straight line overhead, which I'm assuming were the some of the 52 starlink satellites that Falcon released into orbit, but which were still in the process of making their way into final orbital positions.

I've probably mentioned this on DDF somewhere before, but my username is actually completely without intended meaning (though apropos for DDF). When I finished camp one year, some of my bunkmates exchanged email addresses. I didn't have an email account/address, so I decided to open one. Couldn't think of a good name, so I basically copied one from another bunkmate, changing the numbers to be more appropriate for me. After that, it became my go to login when not wanting to use my current email address that more or less has my name in it.
