Yes, once. Conditions were quite poor but I did manage to get a semi-decent shot of the ISS transiting the sun, taken from my driveway. Currently aiming to get it transiting the moon - there was a perfect opportunity a few weeks ago, but it was on Shabbos.

Unbelievable.
Can we get the specifications?

What kind of CPUs does Crew Dragon run in comparison to regular desktop CPUs? I know that there are multiple CPUs for redundancy but how would one of those units compare to, let's say, a desktop i9 9900k?

We use a dedicated quad core processor, similar in power to a 5 year old phone. - Sofian

For some level of scope on Starlink, each launch of 60 satellites contains more than 4,000 Linux computers. The constellation has more than 30,000 Linux nodes (and more than 6,000 microcontrollers) in space right now.

What is the single craziest/most impossible thing management (aka Elon) has asked you to do?

I recall for F9-14 I was in Elon's cube telling him the news that there was no way we could get all of the new S1 landing code done in time for the upcoming launch in 2 weeks. After some thought, he looked over to Lars Blackmore who was there with us and asked if we implement the code, what was our probability of landing. Lars said around 90%. Paraphrasing, Elon looked at us and basically said "can you give me 50%". I said in 2 weeks we can definitely write enough of the logic to get to a 50% probability of landing! We didn't land F9-14 (you can see it on our blooper reel) but we learned a LOT from it, and it was instrumental in eventually landing F9-21. A critical part of our success is our willingness to fail in ways that won't compromise the mission, as long as we are constantly learning from our failures. - Jeff

On this kind of project, pace of innovation is everything. We've spent a bunch of time making it easier, safer, and faster to update our constellation. We tend to update the software running on all the Starlink satellites about once a week, with a bunch of smaller test deployments happening as well. By the time we launch a batch of satellites, they're usually on a build that already older than what's on the rest of the constellation! Our ground services are a big part of this story as well – they're a huge part of making the system work, and we tend to deploy them a couple times a week or more.

What a funny question, they probably think space needs the latest and most powerful CPU, a custom design i11 50000k server grade.
People think Elon is mining bitcoins in space???
Most people probably never realize size and heat is a big negative in space.

They forget to realize we landed on the moon with a 2Mhz processor. The space shuttle uses 8086 CPU, and the ISS is running under a 80386 system.

SpaceX is targeting Wednesday, July 8 at 11:59 a.m. EDT, 15:59 UTC, for launch of its tenth Starlink mission, which will include 57 Starlink satellites and 2 satellites from BlackSky, a Spaceflight customer. Falcon 9 will lift off from Launch Complex 39A (LC-39A) at Kennedy Space Center in Florida.

Falcon 9’s first stage previously supported Crew Dragon’s first demonstration mission to the International Space Station, launch of the RADARSAT Constellation Mission, and the fourth and seventh Starlink missions. Following stage separation, SpaceX will land Falcon 9’s first stage on the “Of Course I Still Love You” droneship, which will be stationed in the Atlantic Ocean.

The BlackSky Global spacecraft will deploy sequentially beginning 1 hour and 1 minute after liftoff, and the Starlink satellites will deploy approximately 1 hour and 32 minutes after liftoff. Starlink satellites will be deployed in a circular orbit, as was done on the first through fourth Starlink missions. Additionally, all Starlink satellites on this flight are equipped with a deployable visor to block sunlight from hitting the brightest spots of the spacecraft – a measure SpaceX has taken as part of our work with leading astronomical groups to mitigate satellite reflectivity.

You can watch the launch webcast here, starting about 10 minutes before liftoff. If you would like to receive updates on Starlink news and service availability in your area, please visit starlink.com.

Since the Space Shuttle missions did not splash down instead landed like a plane  :D
