Recipe please? I’m curious, don’t think I’d actually end up making it tbh.
Just flour and water, with a pinch of salt. Oh, and time, lots of time.
I used
this to make the starter, then started the bread with
this recipe from the same person, but got fed up with the amount of steps she had it in, so started taking some timings and ideas from
here and finished off using both.
Making the actual starter is quick, 2-3 minutes a day for the first 5 days.
Once the starter is ready to be used, there are lots of steps that need hours of resting / rising time in between.
The important thing is to read through and understand everything that's going on, before you start anything.. You're not just baking a cake (dump everything in bowl and mix).
If you know someone that has sourdough starter, you can skip the first step (actually making it from scratch) and get from them. But then you lose half the "Ahh, I made this myself" feeling once its done (and hopefully delicious).
