I did not get MMR vaccine but plan to get COVID-19 vaccine when available.

How can anyone answer this question without knowing the (real) risks that will be associated with the vaccine?
That must  be why no one chose these two options:

The options are fine, they just seem to belong to a different, more narrow question than the one in the subject line.  It looks like @TheDroid wants to know:

Did you get the MMR vaccine?  Will you make the same decision regarding a future COVID-19 vaccine?

Though I agree with posters who think it's too early to make any decision.

That would make sense because nobody who knows the real risks would ever choose those.

I was using MMR as an example because the measles outbreak was one of the latest and in the spotlight, even technically I really don't need to be specific to MMR.

I also assume that if there were any vaccines, it would be safe. Otherwise, it wouldn't be a marketable vaccine right? So I'm looking more for people who are genuinely afraid of vaccines due to (debunked, but alleged) side effects.

Conclusion for this hour long media, 1 thinks vaccine is good, 1 thinks vaccine is bad, 1 is a referee adding more heat, 0 facts provided to audience.

This is why media these days are a waste of time.
They don't provide you facts. They just bring people to talk.
They pit 2 or more biased opinion people to argue each other.
I can be on any of these shows and talk whatever crap I wanted to.
The more famous the bigger d**ks they are.
This is no different then watching wrestling trash talk just without one sneaking up and slapping another with a chair.
I get more useful stuff watching Oprah or HSN.
Waste of time.

This is a faulty premise. After years of R&D, the MMR vaccine has been administered hundreds of millions of doses over many decades. You cannot equate that, with a vaccine that would presumably be available to the public within 12 months of mapping the genome for SARS-CoV-2.

Hmm. I would definitely rate it higher than that
Alan Dershowitz seemed to be convinced by many of the arguments.
Usually a debate noone convinces anyone just a useless argument, this I thought was different.

Can someone explain to me what the MMR vaccine has to do with any possible SARS-CoV2 vaccine?

It really boils down to a personal risk vs reward calculation. Historically serious vaccine side effects have been rare to extremely rare depending on whom you believe (anywhere from one on a million to 20 to 30 times that number if you believe those who say many are underreported). Add the fact that this vaccine will have a record short testing period into the mix, essentially using the first round of vaccine takers as guinea pigs to some degree. It makes sense to weigh that against your perceived risk of serious side effects from covid.

Personally if I was from an area that never got hit and was planning to frequent areas of high prevalence I would consider it to be an acceptable risk. Otherwise I would not go for the vaccine in the short term.

In the analysis above, you didn't factor in what the risk is, even if we were to assume one would contract the virus.

Or what the risk for the vaccine would be in a healthy adult

Would anyone here wait until cuomo does an independent check of the vaccine as he says he will do, in order to take the vaccine? Or do you trust the FDA as it is if Pfizer is approved (or moderna if they are ahead)?
I honestly am not too worried about it if fda approves it. Have t spoken to my doctor but I assume he’ll be fine with it
Anyone actually skeptical that maybe trump ran into the science lab and screwed things up to make it faster?

It doesn't come down to Cuomo v Trump. If there are legitimate medical scientific questions with the vaccine and/or FDA approval process they will surface and we'll be better positioned to decide. From my understanding so far the vaccine doesn't actually include any pathogen, rather a seemingly benign 'Messenger'.
