Allegiant Air safety concerns?
« on: June 02, 2020, 11:16:54 AM »
Was considering sending a teenage daughter on Allegiant Air and found this 2018 article alleging safety concerns https://www.cbsnews.com/news/allegiant-air-the-budget-airline-flying-under-the-radar/. Would you feel safe flying with them?

All is good.

Well, if you survived then it must be safe.
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

Well if this piece was from a pilot refusing to fly then you might be on to something.

My warning sign is pilots refusing to fly. If they are confident with the maintenance, I'm confident. They spend much more time on the metal tube. Their life is at higher stakes.

Have you ever flown with Allegiant?

"The airline came under increased FAA scrutiny after those incidents, which all involved Allegiant’s aging fleet of McDonnell Douglas MD-80 aircraft."

"As of late 2018, all of Allegiant’s MD-80 aircraft were replaced by Airbus aircraft."
