Let’s also list pros and cons

Pro’s - restoring safety

Cons - precedent of Federal overreach; potential for escalating the violence round; possibility of disobedience & damage to the military chain of command & reputation

What kind of warped logic is that? If the potential con was killing a million people, would you still say the pro's are definite and cons are maybe?

ok. Now you lost me.
You made a good point, he counters with a relatively good point and then you accuse him of
warped logic
while comparing
1. potential for escalating the violence round;
2. possibility of disobedience & damage to the military chain of command & reputation
To
killing a million people
now we've escalated to an to irrational
I stay out of this fray but y'all, on both sides, have turned me apolitical with this nonsense.
Now I'm sure you'll come back and say you never compared the two despite the quotes and say I have reading comprehension issues bla bla bla but these forums have downgraded into such nonsense lately, I couldn't help but add my own.

You completely manipulated my post to make it sound irrational and serve your agenda.

I used a hypothetical scenario where there is a risk of killing a million people, to prove that a 'maybe' can be worse than a 'definite'.

same (ok. Not the same, but manipulation nonetheless) manipulation that you did. You proved that a maybe can be worse than a definite by using a far more extreme example than he you originally presented and based on that called his disagreement with you irrational.
No can do buddy.
You can disagree but don't use extreme examples that were not originally part of the discussion to call someone irrational.
This is what liberals and conservatives spend their days doing. Hence, I'm now apolitical...

Again not true. His post claimed any definite positive trumps a potential con, and I used an extreme example to prove that premise is completely false.

I'm a conservative libertarian who misses Obama & wishes we had Hillary in control now, so I'm more probably more apolitical that you.

ETA: I happened to have voted for calling in the military, but I am not blinded by position and try to understand both sides

context, context, context. He was responding in context to your examples and ya blew it out of context. He never said  definite always trumps maybe. He wrote
see comments above. Pro's are definite and cons are maybe.  that should answer your question
the pros that YOU listed were definite, while the cons that YOU listed were maybe.
Don't worry your in good company with most of the other active forum members.
Based on your apolitical example, I had a good laugh. I guess I'm more apathetic than apolitical.
