AAA membership costs less, takes off the underage fee and gives a percentage off.
Don't see lots of advantages for the price difference.
AAA waives the underage fee from 20 years old. This seems to be from 18 which usually 18 year olds can't rent in most states, regardless if they pay an underage fee or not.

Also, not having to worry about filling up the car or getting charged through the roof will give you peace of mind.
120 characters? Hmm, I wonder what I could write with 64 characters. Boy, it's gonna be hard to use up 15 characters. W-

Do you feel that AAA seems to have fewer unique benefit enough to keep the membership?

I had them for decades and feel I'm not really getting much benefits lately. Credit card or insurance company these days have roadside assistance too.

Does an AU Sapphire reserve also get the breakdown coverage or just the primary cardholder?

I think AU gets it too, but like the credits, its annual limit is shared by everyone.

Just returned a car at MCO, and due to traffic didn't have time to fill the gas, was running extremely late.
Just got hit with a $150+ gas charge (9.99 /gallon!!!)!

Good example of how if could pay for itself with 1 rental.

Im not so sure, i wouldnt lay out $100 for that chance, it hasnt happened to me in the past and is not something i am too worried about. would you buy 100 dollars of insurance for that eventuality? it seems expensive.
If you dont want to deal with the hassle in the first place then i understand that it might be worth to pay for the service, but again, i dont see myself paying $100 for someone to fill up my tank.

Agreed. Especially considering extended rental time perks

I rented a car with Hertz in LGB a few years back (JetBlue 75k mileage run). I thought Iíd use most of the tank, and be running super late on the return, so added the full tank option.

On the way back to the airport, I had lots of extra time and hadnít used nearly what I thought I would. So I called CS and had them remove the fuel option from my reservation, then filled up myself and dropped it off without problem.

Interesting, and probably even if you would have used the full tank service it would take some time till you reached $100 in difference. (although hle's are not always so good at staying in an imaginable price range)

Didn't Hertz file for bankruptcy? Where's the guarantee that they will be operational in a month or two?

You probably don't understand what Chapter 11 is.
If you do understand Chapter 11 and still doubt about their operation in a month or two, then you should rent some nice car and keep it until they cease operation. It's going to be a long time before someone will claim back the car.
