This is very compelling, but it still means you need a significant percentage of the population vaccinated to lower the overall numbers. Nothing new, we already knew that, but it’s scary in the US where such a big percentage of the population isn’t interested in being vaccinated.

We have a right to choose if we feel comfortable with a fairly new vaccine, please don't argue this point, it is NEW! It's our right & nobody should take that away from us. Covid19 became such a judging matter. You feel like people are creating a 'malicious' agenda & those who don't take the vaccine, are they malicious & evil too?? Yes, there may be lots of conspiracy theories out there, but do we blindly accept or are we allowed to question? Or do we need to rush to put something in our body that we're not sure we want to cuz not enough time has past do deem it 100% safe??

Nobody said anything about mandating. I don't think that's the government's place.

A layman can't properly research vaccines just like you can't properly research brain surgery or how 747s can fly. We trust people who are educated in the field.


Besides for that, we know that COVID has many short term and long term side effects, aside from millions of deaths. We also know the world economy is in ruins because of COVID and that life won't return to normal until there is true herd immunity and not Lakewood heard immunity.

We know that the vaccine has very little short term effects and studies prove that nearly all vaccine side effects show up within weeks of the shot. Arguments about potential long term effects are scare mongering and ignore the known short and long term effects of COVID.

I'm very much pro-vax, but I understand @Chayal's position. I'm personally very leery of the Covid vaccines, but I'm also predisposed to skepticism and distrust of new things. That said, there is a special place in hell for people who put out misinformation about the vaccines causing people not to get vaccinated.

Push comes to shove, I'll probably get vaccinated, but only because I realized that if C"V something bad comes from the vaccines, I'll be left in a world full of anti-vaxxers. I'd rather roll the dice with Pfizer.

The crazy part is, these are most likely the safest vaccines yet ever designed, and the facts are in front of our eyes, but when you give credence to FUD, everything is "I heard it's already killed 12 people in Israel while taking the vaccine" and other clearly made up stories that you can discredit in a second. However, apparently shikul hadas is hard for people. "אם אין דעת, הבדלה מנין?"

Actually the government can legally mandate it for certain paternalistic functions as long as they allow certain exceptions.

Think back to the measles outbreak a few years back. The states can mandate that a student wont be admitted to school without certain vaccinations.

I was referring to mRNA vaccines. The initial studies show very few patients with side effects.

So COVID will just exist where the measles broke out. Great...
