Positive test today in that BM in the Mir, as well as Multiple positives in other BMim.

This is clearly not working out for the mir
Any idea if they are working on a better plan for end of this or next zman?

Stop bashing Mir!! The Chabura that closed was open throughout Summer Zman. It was in a different Beis hamedrash. the average age of the Chabura is 30+. Please get your facts straight. They only had a couple of new avreichim come into chabura for Elul. The chabura was Avreichim only no bachurim. IMHO was nothing to do with Mir getting it wrong - they were very makpid about masks, social distancing etc.
The Bachurim have come back from Ein Gedi today so we will see what happens with that...............

This chaburah had no issues from when they came back last zman.
There's no way to know if it's now infection spreading round the chabura, or because its widespread in the wider community, separate infections of members of the chabura.

There are also chaburos that are sitting now w/o masks at all, and they are definitely not getting tested, so we have no idea if casual contact with them (stairwells, bathrooms...) in the cause of the infection.

There's def things that they could do to improve.
If someone doesn't care about corona, (for argument sakes) that's his issue, but they should be given a totally separate building to learn, eat, daven in.
There' s no social distancing on the buses at all, they are SRO.
R' Ashers shiur is jammed.
There's no Temp checks any more.

Agreed.
Why can't R' Oshers shiur be only on live stream and put various hookups in different dining/shiur rooms and partition them off?

A good lesson for those who thing that every video that someone puts out from Rav Chayim can be construed as a blanket horaah for Jews around the world (March comes to mind) rather than a specific answer to a specific query...

Israel’s Health Ministry reported 2,349 new coronavirus cases on Motzei Shabbos. There are currently 26,283 active cases, with 439 seriously ill patients, of whom 128 are ventilated.

Fourteen additional fatalities were recorded on Shabbos, raising the death toll to 1,007. Israeli has now reached the grim milestone of being the 49th country in the world to suffer over 1,000 coronavirus fatalities.

Now we are going to get evening curfews and closing schools. What a waste of everyone's energy. Just a complete lack of logic and direction

its funny and sad that mishpacha and so many others only realize this when a psak comes out that tickles them the wrong way.
it would be hard to deny that the same case can be made for hundreds of others rulings coming in the name of reb chaim

Please provide an example of another 'misrepresented' psak from R' Chaim that had pikuach nefashos ramifications...

im not about to dig into every psak, misrepresented or not, and discuss whether or not its ramifications include pikuach nefesh.
but i'll take one recent "psak" in his name that has very serious ramifications, as an example.
during the first lockdown, it was publicized in reb chaim's name that anyone who made a minyan is a rodef and must be informed on to the local authorities.
the "psak" was obviously bogus, because reb chaim himself had a minyan in his house 3 times a day throughout the whole lockdown, as did at least 2 of his son in laws in their house as well. the minyanim were not only made up immediate family members.
unfortunately, people took this "psak" pretty seriously.
that has pretty bad ramifications.
i didnt hear of any clarifications from mishpacha and their sort.
im not gonna continue this sugya any more over here (bli neder, unless someone really ticks me off), because i dont want chalila to be taken as a reb chaim basher, and bec i dont think this is the right forum to discuss such heavy issues. whatever sensible arguments which will be made, will be taken by many the wrong way.

The level of compliance is going to be very low. The only things that will actually happen because of the lockdown are Beis Yaakov's being closed and restaurants closed at night. That's going to solve the whole issue  ::)

That is more compliance than the NY quarantine for those coming from out of state.
