Bibbi just gave a phenomenal interview on N12 (jumped on the momentum bandwagon just when the polls turned the curve to start giving him a consistent 61 majority), says Israel is negotiating with Pfizer & Moderna for new R&D facilities and PRODUCTION in Israel.

The Ashkenazi Chief Rabbi of Israel and chief of the rabbinate’s top religious court, Rabbi David Lau, has suspended a rabbinical judge from a rabbinate court responsible for conversions, after the judge refused to get vaccinated against the coronavirus.

The judge in question was part of a court responsible for handling the conversions of IDF soldiers to Judaism.

Rabbi Lau said all judges are obliged to receive the vaccine.

“As far as he is concerned, it is the obligation of every judge to get vaccinated, and insofar as it is permitted by law, any judge who does not get vaccinated will be prevented from serving in his position and endangering others who come to the court,” Rabbi Lau’s office said in a statement.

Earlier on Tuesday, Health Minister Yuli Edelstein (Likud) said that there is “an improvement in the coronavirus infection rates,” while adding “but still, they aren’t simple. There is a clear decline in the number of patients in serious condition, and also in the number of new diagnoses, and a consistent increase in the number of people vaccinated – but we must be cautious.”

“Today we will surpass four million vaccinated people in Israel, of which 2.612 million have also received the second dose. Yesterday, we vaccinated 156,000 people.”

“We are still far from getting things back to normal, but I am happy that yesterday the Cabinet approved the reopening of a number of sectors, doing so cautiously.”

As always with Israeli MSM taken with at least a grain of salt.
I've been waiting over 5 years with bated breath for someone to say that!

Israel is getting really close to vaccinating the maximum number of people. Currently 43.7% of the population received at least 1 dose, when you add nearly 8% of the population who tested positive (minus some overlap) you're at around 50%. Approximately 30% of the population is under 16, so they're not eligible. That leaves around 20% (1.8 million people) who haven't received at least 1 dose.
I wonder what people who type "u" instead of "you" do with all their free time.

Those 1.8m (specifically the 500-600k who are above aged 50) are signficiant.

A 29-year-old mother in Israel gave birth to a stillborn after contracting the coronavirus, with doctors saying the fetus was confirmed to have contracted the virus and died as a result.

This is the first case of a stillborn that was attributed solely to the coronavirus since tests previously performed during the pregnancy showed that the fetus was healthy. The woman, a resident of southern Israel who was 25 weeks pregnant.

I know personally of one in Lakewood and heard of more, so not sure why they're saying it's the first.

Really don't understand the big fuss. They are providing entertainment for a very large amount of people. It is צרכי רבים. They are kept in a tight isolation bubble and shouldn't be a threat. Seems more like typical Israeli צרות עין.

How do they get infected if they’re in tight isolation? סתירה מני׳ ובי׳

They just landed a day or two ago. They brought it with them. People are just bitter because the airports are closed for others and there is a difficult quarantine, IMHO it is similar to how many Israelis want to replace Bibbi for the simple reason that 'it's time for a change'.

That kind of thinking gets you the likes of Obama and Trump as president (I know you won’t relate to what I’m saying about the former, but the latter will give you the gist).

I actually believe Obama spent most of his presidency clamoring for bipartisanship to prove a black man can be accepted instead of forcefully pushing agendas that would actually help his constituents (while he could before '14), and it seems like his VP learnt the lesson.

But yes, voters are stupid. I saw a Gemara with a similar wisdom today:

Quote

The fetuses in Lakewood were healthy too, before they got Covid. I think it's a case of the Israeli media hyping things up again.
