Where will Israelis let out their anger/hate/etc?
We all send it to a main sorting center. It's organized, packaged, and shipped out to cab and bus drivers to redistribute.

It’s a relative chart, and doesn’t show pre-pandemic movement, so while it’s certainly up the data displayed doesn’t necessarily reflect the caption.

Can someone explain to me the people still wearing a mask but wearing it around your chin or under your nose. No one is asking you to wear it

Makes more sense than wearing it alone in the car. Less chance of getting fined by a policeman having an especially bad day.

1. It's a fashion statement.
2. It's a chin protector
3. It's still required outdoors in Israel, policy hasn't been updated yet AFAIk (even though EVERYONE knows that it's not really needed outdoors).
I've been waiting over 5 years with bated breath for someone to say that!

Israel 199 cases yesterday. Another big drop from a week before the same day.
Positive percentage was 0.27% with 73k tests!!! ❗❗❗
Approaching that only 1 in 400 tests is positive!

At this rate, who says the positive rate isn't 0.05% in two weeks?

I do. The law still mandates it, almost everybody in the major cities still wears one, and I feel that walking without one can be seen by others as a lack of respect to accepted norms, therefore a chilul hashem.

The logic is also simple, if you have a mask on your chin you're much more likely to raise it when encountering other people. I walk outdoors a lot and it's very common for people to raise their masks as they come closer. A large part of the reasoning for the outdoors mandate was in fact that it would lead to people wearing it indoors, which is much harder to enforce on its own.

The 0% baseline is from March 1, 2020. Israel had the first case on Feb 27. I guess mobility could've dropped by then, but I doubt it.

What realistically changes between now and the 18th that they can’t make this effective immediately?

The same thing like now and a week ago.

ETA: Maybe it's just a super long public holiday weekend and they don't implement things on public holidays and weekends. Wednesday and Thursday - public holiday, Friday and Shabbos weekend.

When you introduce new restrictions you can postpone the effective date so that people have time to become aware and prepare for the new restrictions. But why wait when relaxing restrictions?

How does that ELAL slogan go?

Though in fairness, it's a problem with politicians all over. Covid-19 is their opium. Hard to give up.

141 positives yesterday with a .4% positivity rate
Any way to know how many of the positives were imports from Natbag?
Also, can someone explain to me the following:
14 new serious cases yesterday. Those are usually around 5 days after testing positive. Average positives for 5 days ago is around 160. Are 1/10 positive cases serious hospitalisations? That number seems way to high, especially considering the vaccination rate in the vulnerable population

14 is high (prob weekend reporting/hospitalization delay). The 7-day average is 7 new serious cases.

The 7-day average of new cases was 245 on April 9 and 194 on April 13.

The ratio is ~3%, compared with closer to 2% at the peak, likely a result of healthcare capacity lowering the bar for hospitalization and care definitions, and less asymptomatic cases being detected because vaccinated people are testing less.
