Do the experts agree that’s a given at this point?
I don't think it's a given with current vaccine effectiveness, the question is if further mutations will render the vaccine even less effective.

Unanimous decision by the Israeli vaccine advisory board. The UK is starting it as well soon.

We know it’s a race between vaccine development (to target/protect against variants) and the virus mitigating to evade vaccine-induced immunity. A few months ago you said Delta was the end of the road as far as forecasted mutations go. A few posts upthread, it seemed like you were saying endemic COVID is inevitable.

Sounds like neither of those are definitive, and we need to keep davening.

I don't see any inherent obstacle from scaling up to ultimately design and manufacture new mRNA doses overnight. The changes are small enough that it shouldn't need new safety tests.

The issues are more political, if you have a large mass of people that you can't vaccinate, it might not go away.

My bigger concern is optimal dosing and frequency. Maybe I’ve just been exposed to too much FUD.

Re: The current state of COVID-19 in Israel -Confused at current state

We are  confused with the latest  restrictions on travel. Hopefully   you can help us.
We are planning my grandson's   Bar Mitzva  in Israel on August  20/21.   We scheduled our  air travel to land in Israel on  August 12 at  4 PM, assuming   we  would  have a 7  day  quarantine. We are assuming that we  will  be able  to take  a PCR test on day 7  which  would be August 18 th.
Our interpretation of the restriction is  if  our  PCR test is  negative , we will be able  to  go to the Kotel on Thursday to layne   and  have  his layning at  shul on  Shabbas.
We are Israeli citizens(with a green passport)  but the Bar mitzva  boy  and family are not.
Will our restrictions be  different ?
Will they be required to take a serology test ? They all had  the virus  and  2 of my children  had the vaccine .
Is this the correct interpretation ?
Where  can  find out  what the closest testing  center is to Rechavia. ?

Lol. You know nothing about me. I happen to be all for it, was just curious who calls the shots in Israel. But keep stepping in it.

FWIU those who aren’t Israeli citizens need special authorization to enter Israel, and it’s predicated on a first degree relative (at least of one of the parents) who lives in Israel. So it’s possible if one of the parents have a sibling that lives in Israel, they can apply for permission to enter along with their family.

Didn't they mention that the logic for that is since it's holiday season it will have less of an economic impact (not sure I fully understand that, just repeating)...not some sort of anti religious agenda.

Assuming you have approvals for entry...you are correct. You should be released for the 19th.
Restrictions are the same whether you have a green pass or not - so serology test is necessary (unless you need green pass for entrance to restaurants/hotels/etc.)
Life isn't about checking the boxes. Nobody cares.
