"אני מעריך ממה שאנחנו יודעים מבדיקות של רמות נוגדנים, שרואים את ההשפעה של החיסון השלישי כשבוע לאחר החיסון. התחלנו לחסן לפני כשבועיים, אנחנו מחכים למסה של מחוסנים כדי שזה ישפיע על המספרים כך שזה צפוי בשבוע-עשרה ימים הקרובים".

לדבריו, "יש מידע ראשוני על ההשפעה של החיסון השלישי כנגד הידבקות. ההערכה שלנו היא שזה הקטין את מספר המקרים בכחצי בקרב המחוסנים. נצטרך לראות בימים הקרובים שהמגמה נשמרת ושזה בא לידי ביטוי גם בתחלואה הקשה".

Silly question.. but if we're anyway heading to a lockdown, why not start it now instead of waiting to the #s to increase?

because if things ease up due to the lockdown then they might not have an excuse to lockdown for the yamim noraim which has been their plan for the last month and a half

This is fascinating, but possibly a very small number so maybe statistically insignificant (because Israel recognizes antibodies just like vaccines). Any idea what the number is?

Likely due to behavior, similar to the second wave and on in the US (when higher risk people were protecting themselves better than younger healthier people).

My only question is, why the “vaccinated” qualifier? Is this different for the unvaccinated over 60s?

The Health Ministry says there were 36 COVID-19 deaths reported this morning, with the total toll of the pandemic reaching 6,668. Meanwhile, active cases are down to 47,675 and serious cases remain almost unchanged at 525.

There have been 2,970 cases diagnosed so far today.
