As others have noted, a part of it is probably that charedim who are much younger became a big part of the cases.

Yesterday's case count is updated to 9,017.
Only 2,891 as of 5 pm.

Cases declining and serious cases still not increasing this week at all.

Hebrew U is  crediting the 3rd shot with stoping the wave.

"The current wave of serious illness was stopped thanks to the booster shot campaign. The decline in the number of new infections is likely to continue through the coming days."

It certainly didn’t hurt, but other waves have  peaked and leveled off after a few weeks as well so who knows.
