A. Why are you getting defensive?
B. Help me understand, going back to the בושה claim, is this about legality or about pikuach nefesh?
C. I didn't accuse you, I stated what to the best of my knowledge, recollection, and understanding is fact. @aygart seems to concur.
And before you answer any of those, let me suggest that we cut this here and now, and try to find only positive things to say about fellow Jews.
I wasn’t defensive. You posted a snarky attack on my opinion, And I refuted it.
Yes, non-Religious people also dies from Covid and also spread it in schools. The article you posted actually demonstrated they contained the outbreak fairly fast, having tested all contacts quickly and successfully identifying other carriers so that they can be isolated. The point is incidents like this happened 4x more often in the frum community. Posting 1 incident in the non frum world proves absolutely nothing.
Now that you can’t support your stated positions in the face of evidence, you resort to saying it’s better not to discuss it. Half the Torah details incidents where Jews acted wrongly and condemning the bad is just as important as celebrating the good, if not more so. If you don’t like the conversation, don’t participate in it.
If you want to really defend the frum community, perhaps you should argue that learning of תשב׳ר, yeshivos, and minyanim are more important than the lives lost. I can’t argue with that, although I would love to know who set the bar. One thing is clear though, contrary to the original claims, they aren’t more protective for the masses than basic health hishtadlus
